DO NOT Believe the "Gameplay" Videos

343i have shown a behind-the-scenes look into the creation of E3’s Halo Infinite trailer and, with it, a brief shot of a first-person model in front of the beam-shooting structures. This gameplay is being falsely labeled “Halo Infinite gameplay” (especially on YouTube) but it’s clearly using Halo 5: Guardians’ gameplay engine as a placeholder.

DO NOT fall for these clickbait videos or any articles that may pop up.

Hopefully there are folks out there who are clever enough to see the difference. It’s just like the time when Bungie released pre-Reach gameplay using the Halo 3 engine, and then seeing media outlets claiming that “Halo Reach is using the Halo 3 engine OMG!”.

I strongly dislike sites and YouTube channels that take advantage of those types of practices.

Did that happen? I know Halo 4 used Halo 3’s engine for testing purposes.

Yes it did. Also happened with Halo 3 looking similar originally to Halo 2 (multiplayer-wise) although that one wasn’t as bad as the most recent games.

No it was actually a Bungie conference that had the Halo 3 engine
