Do I need Gold for halo waypoint on my Xbox 360

Im new to halo, I just got into it in the summer and got Halo Waypoint a few days ago. I downloaded Halo waypoint for my Xbox 360 but it doesn’t have as much as the one on my tablet and computer and says “Go Gold” everywhere, do I need a Xbox Live Gold Membership to have more options, show my service record, and see how to get the items in the armory in Halo Reach that need halo waypoint?q
