This is a foundational sound that does not represent the actual sound to be used in game. Basically, it means nothing.

Its going to be funny when people hype these rumors up so much and the br isnt in halo 4. Then everyone hates on 343 blaming them for all the hype when its the community that did it all

It’s interesting that when people heard that gun they automatically thought “Oh! That’s the BR!” Just because the gun shoots in burts does not mean it is the BR. If you listened carefully then you would notice that the gun did not shoot in three bullet bursts. It shot in a bursts of 4, 3, 4, 3, 5. You can also see the number of shells that come flying out except for the 5 bullet burst, you actually have to listen. I do know my gun information and I jsut spent 5 minutes making sure I heard right so I do know what I’m talking about.
That’s just an M16A3, or M4 Carbine. It could be recording sounds for the Assault Rifle. They weren’t just shooting randomly, they were trying to hit targets. Despite what Call of Duty will say, bursts are more accurate than full auto.

what do you mean “despite what call of duty will say”, in one of the MW campaigns one of the characters says “use short controlled bursts” and what has cod got to do with this anyway? just another chance to bring up a halo/cod comparison?

For the love of…
This is just like people who see the face of Jesus in their toast.
It the original source sound. The BR doesn’t exist in real life. And just because it sounds like it doesn’t mean they are going to cut and paste the whole deal into the game. There’s no telling how they are going to cut, edit and paste that original source file to get the sound they want.
This is about as reliable as when people were all clamoring over dual wielding being in Reach because we saw concept art of an Elite dual wielding.
Do I smell another theory that is going to turn into a rumor that is going to end up being wrong?
Also, That soldier is holding a M16, which guess what, has 3 fire settings, Safe, Semi, and Burst. Does that mean BR, NO, all it means is that they’re recording sounds for weapons, using real weapons.

Just poking a little fun at another game I enjoy perhaps? Anyway it’s to make fun of how the recoil is extremely low for firing at full auto, but that’s not the point. I really don’t get why your getting so upset over a harmless joke? I make fun of every game, whether it’s Battlefield, Halo, CoD, Forza, Gran Turismo, it doesn’t matter! I enjoy all of these, which is why I like to make fun of them.
Now, never mind this, back to the on-topic discussion. I really liked the Halo: CE Assault rifle. It sounded like it meant damage, and it definitely did! I would enjoy sounds like that for every weapon! Making the new/old/counterpart of the BR to sound like a .50 Caliber Sniper Rifle, with the Sniper sounding like Hell itself will make my day!
Now this looks like a fun job. Getting to shoot some guns for a video game.

If the BR isn’t in Halo 4, Halo will continue its downward slide.
