Do I have to rebuy Special Edition game?

So I had the Halo 4 Special Edition and then my house was broken into and my 360 and all the accessories were stolen…along with my Halo 4 SE game disc. I still have Disc 2 but Disc 1 was in the system when it was stolen. My question is once I buy a new system do I have to get another Special Edition game or can I just buy the regular game? I don’t care about the gun skins or armour, I just don’t want to lose out on any of the maps or actual game playing features. I was told by Microsoft that I can do a console transfer (or something like that) when I get the new one and I will be able to recover all of my DLC (I purchased the map pack). Along with some other game downloads I had. If anyone knows, please let me know soon so I can buy this game before my console arrives…I can’t wait to get back to some Halo…I miss it!!!

Thanks everyone in advance!

I am pretty sure you would only have to buy a normal disc. For the DLC and stuff, yes, you can do a License transfer from your account settings.

. Change your passwords
. Buy a new Xbox
. Recover GT
. Go to Download History
. and/or Do a Licence transfer for content on xbox.com

If you get your account back you will only need to download the DLCs again so a regular disk should be fine.

You do the license transfer so the person who stole OP’s 360 can’t use the DLCs.

Thanks guys. My account is safe, I turned off the methods of payment and changed my password. And turned on the requirement to enter my account email and password if they try to log in on that console. As far as I can tell they haven’t tried to use my account, so far. So once I do the license transfer none of the DLC will work on the original console? That’s awesome!
Well, I guess all I need to do is find the cheapest place to get the regular Halo 4 game from.

Hey Robobeast76, what do you mean by “Recover GT”?

Thanks!

GamerTag, you can download your Macheon7 to your new box with all the achievements and everything.

The term was “recover account” on the dashboard. With the update, they changed it to “download account”.

Well I should be able to figure it all out once I get my new system…it should be here Monday or Tuesday and the same with Halo 4. I bought a Silver Reach XBox 360 this time. Cant wait!
Thanks for all the help you guys. Send me a friend request so we can play sometime!

Remember, go to xbox.com and change your personal information from there. That way, they cannot access your xbox live on your 360.

Edit: That’s good that the password’s been changed.
