After the we were all mislead by 343 showing a halo 4 trailer weekend ( 343 please be more clear with trailers next time) it seems there is still no plot to halo 4 there was suposed to be hints in halo glasslands and halo cea but I did not see any info at all unless 343 put the slightest peice of info so unnoticable we couldnt see it.
So the newest info on halo 4 today was the halo 4 trailer that was released at e3 almost 6 months ago no new info since no plot no game play no progress.
After reading comments:
Yea I know were all pissed of about no halo 4 trailer but common its been almost 6 months and there is litrerally no new info I thought 343 was one of them companies who gave the fans what they wanted I mean VGA was anounced a month ago and it was on the voting list for game trailers 343 should of had a trailer prepared any way and if they dosnt win then they should of shown it on 343 day.
Unless that VGA trailer vote was just some stupid rigged thing there should be a finished halo 4 trailer some wear and it should be released very soon.

How clear can they be??
On neogaf, they clearly said “no” when bombarded with questions about a vga trailer and 343i never even hinted or confirmed at a vga trailer.
I’d rather see 343i take their time and make the best of the mystery surrounding Halo 4 and release a trailer when they’re absolutely ready.

Ok ok ok mate, yeah everyone is kinda pissed about no trailer, but think about it. If 343 have been working on Halo 4 since halo 3, the plot is definately decided. They probably have the whole story written for Halo 5 as well.
A trailer will come soon hopefully

Take their time?? I am not sure about you, but 3 years is quite a long time.
Newest Halo 4 isn’t the E3 trailer, it’s the concept art trailer. I don’t know about Glasslands as I ahven’t read it yet, but what comes to Halo CEA, the terminals had few potential hints to Halo 4. And finally, we weren’t misled by 343i. While not very clearly, they confirmed many times that there will be no VGA trailer. The problem was that some people just didn’t want to believe it and started to form conspiracy theories that they are just saying it to give us a bigger surprise. oh, and let’s not forget the VGA ads, they shouldn’t have used the clip from Halo 4 trailer when Halo 4 wasn’t going to be announced, it was also a mistake on their part.
But there is still probably bit less than a year until the release of Halo 4. In that time we will get numerous trailers, hunderds of pictures, and possibly a beta. Everything is alright at this moment.

I think they’re just trying to find the right time to properly unveil Halo 4. They know we’re all waiting for a trailer, but maybe they’re just using the hype to their advantage.
I don’t know, but I can wait. But that’s just me.

I agree with your last point but the HYPE you mention is created via trailers and releasing info. The so called Hype 343 are experiencing now is not the kind they want, and a trailer would have tripled the HYPE. Hype is not created with a lack of information, it is built with it. Mass Effect (a far more worthy winner) relases info almost bi-weekly in their Bioware Pulse and with trailers and a THRIVING community. Halo, sadly does not and thus the community is small. Face the truth

I always thought the Halo community was larger than the ME community, no?
Anyways, I suppose the new Halo 4 info could ease a lot of people right now. Maybe they’ll release something before the end of the year.
Making a trailer isn’t as easy as taking game assets and editing out a short video. Developers put months into it to get a trailer build ready for showing. They dedicate time to a separate build just for the trailer. Would you rather they take their time with the game and get a trailer ready in time for E3 next year or come up with something mediocre for the VGA’s?
They chose the latter because they’d prefer taking time rather than showing something mediocre now and have people even be more worried about the game.
Mass Effect 3 is releasing on the 16th of March. That is 3 months away. It would be safe to assume that they have a lot more assets done and polished ready to show off than Halo 4 which is a year or possibly more away from release.

Mass Effect 3 also happens to be much closer to release than Halo 4. If 343i started to release Halo 4 info every two weeks, we would know every single detail about the game before E3 of next year. There really is no need to start releasing that much info at this point in development.
The right time will come, it could be this year, it could be next year. But I’m pretty sure it will come in late winter in the least.

In fact, you hit the nail in the head hear. Every trailer takes away development time as instead of building the real game, programmers and artist are pulled to develop the trailer build. As these days you have to have trailer in every single event, the actual game gets easily delayed as when they finally finish the trailer, the next event is already on it’s way and they have to start a new trailer build.
In worst case scenario this could lead to the game getting constantly delayed and when it finially released, it would be full of bugs and be badly executed in general. So in this sense, less trailers is better. And that’s exactly one of the reasons why I support ViDocs instead of trailers, they don’t require their own build and actually offer much more info about the game than trailers.

This, I agree with. I’m sure waiting a few more weeks for new info/media won’t drastically change lives.

They clearly stated many times that there would not be a trailer at the VGA’s, they never said there was going to be one, stop accusing 343 of things.

Exactly. A lot of people here are forgetting that ME 3 is released within the next few months, as opposed to Halo 4’s release that is about a year away.
@Slain In numbers yes. But the ME is growing whilst the halo is doing the opposite. Surely you can see that is a bad thing?
@ME3 being release in March.
In March of this year we knew about a thousand times more than what we know of HALO 4 right know. Am i talking to a brick wall here? Bioware pulse has been slowly generating info for ME fans for months and months. Can you comprehend this?
343i never mislead you OP.
They always said there would be “no trailer” and you simply led yourself to believe there actually would be a trailer for sure.
Now, I can understand people still somewhat expecting something because “no” coming from a developer mostly actually means “yes”, but that still didn’t mean you should have 100% definetely expected a trailer at the VGA’s. Your dissapointment is all due to your own expectations…
Secondly: they do have a plan. Obviously.
If it’s the right one: I don’t think so. I think it would have been wise to start the hype now, when there is no competition on that front from the inevitable CoD coming in November 2012…If 343i wants H4 to be a success, and wants it’s fair share of mainstream gamers back, they should start to hype…NOW. And not wait until E3 and just have 3-4 months to hype, because that won’t be enough.
Then again: don’t forget MS is behind this. If there are masters at marketing, it’s MS. So I’m holding my horses saying their current way of doing things is “wrong”…but I don’t agree with it, and I don’t think its a smart move…
