Thats really all i have to say. Im not sure you should be able to spawn with a mini sniper IMO. Ragnarok will play much better than blood gultch obviously, but we can no longer have maps like relic, terminal, and waterworks(or any maps with wide open areas) will never work with the DMR (as a starting weapon)
EDIT: I don’t need nonconstructive posts saying “you havent played the game yet thus your opinion is invalid” I’m bringing up a concern for the game i love.

lol no all valhalla is is a game of camp the laser hill. BG had no terrain holding. It was a pure competition of skill unhindered by people running away or camping OP power weapons
CE MP spawned you with a mini sniper, the pistol. It played amazingly. The DMR is the CE pistol reborn, if you don’t like it then you never liked what halo stood for.

I dont think one weapon dominating a map is what halo stands for personally. I loved BG for the record.
If everyone spawns with the DMR, it won’t be an issue. Because there is relatively a good amount of cover on most of the BTB maps, it won’t be an issue.
It’s only an issue on Blood Gulch/Hemorrhage because there’s pretty much no cover in the entirety of the map and if you’re caught in the open by spawning there you’re out of luck.
At least Valhalla has caves on the sides and some more rocks to hide behind. If big maps have cover, the DMR won’t break anything.
There’s only 3 things the DMR will break: your shield, your visor, and your skull.
It’s meant for big maps. It’s your own fault if you don’t have the foresight to prepare an appropriate loadout. I know I’ll have a long-range loadout or two prepared, among others.
The DMR would work great on the listed maps, as well as on Burial Mounds and Containment.
Blood Gulch and its siblings are not great for all but a few sandboxes.
It’s all about the amount of sight line cover to be offered, that is why Containment is AWESOME for H4. There is the nearly open middle that can be subverted by the walls near the bases and then a trench in the middle. Vehicles can fight away while infantry can fight their own battles in many cases completely separated by the vehicles. You can hide from a DMR or you can face the Carbine and fullautos in the trench, it’s GREAT!..
Ragnarok works for what it is, a nostalgia map that is open enough for infantry and vehicular combat. It’s a “proven” map that is there for those that crave a BTB precision or vehicle heavy game that supports any objective game very, very well.
The Forge Land maps such as Ravine and the Grifball court will offer us the ability to make maps that can give us Containment and Relic-like gameplay, but those maps, like Terminal as well, hold features not truly captured by a Forge Land.
Anyways on topic I think debating about how potential overpowered(I hate that word) a weapon many be is useless since none of use have used it unless we played the game somewhere.

I normally wouldn’t say something like that but you worded your post like it was a fact lol. I see you edited the title though^_^

yup to many angry posts couldn’t see that it was an opinion. How can i state something as fact when i haven’t played it?
