why was the DMR in halo 4 campaign? I don’t mind it in machtmaking but I don’t get why its in the campaign?
Why wouldn’t it be?
I have a feeling where you’re going with this, and yes the DMR in the campaign does fit the canon. The Army were the only ones that still used it during 2552, but the DMR in Halo 4 is a newer version that has since been adopted by all branches due to how well it worked.

where did you find that info? I mean from the books I read there was nothing about dmrs for this time frame

haven’t seen or read about the dmr in books for this time line.

The DMR is in REACH, and REACH is set 4/5 years before Halo 4.
REACH is before Halo CE.

reach doesn’t exists anymore, got destroyed so how did DMRs get into halo 4 campaign?
If they put it on the FUD, that it would make no sense. However, they put it on Infinity, so it made some sense.

it doesn’t make any sense at all. I mean I know some games are not based of the books but come on they can at least have the right weapons for it.

The DMR in Reach is a different DMR than the one in Halo 4.

Because of course ALL the DMR’s in existence were obviously on Reach…
The design was readopted and issued to a wider range of military branches OP. You don’t need to complain about this.

That doesn’t matter at all.
Who cares of it was “canon” or not to have the DMR in campaign. I just liked the extra scope range it had. Really helped in my Legendary Solo run.
The DMR in Halo Reach is the M392 Designated Marksman Rifle.
The DMR in Halo 4 is the M395 Designated Marksman Rifle.
Based on the fact the Battle Rifle was adopted by all branches of the UNSC except the army, it’s safe to assume that the M395 made some changes from its predecessor that makes it capable of taking on the BR85HBSR in 2557.
The DMR that we saw in Reach was phased out by the majority, except The Army. It was phased out for the BR did a better job (According to Halo lore). The DMR was later revived and improved on, then was mass produced for all branches…again.

Not all of the Designated Marksman Rifles were stored on Reach. It was distributed to many separate units until it was (like what other people are saying)it’s production was cancelled, except by the Army. Later, they improved the DMR and made it onto the M395 Designated Marksman Rifle.

Think of it like this, Camaro was made by Chevrolet for a few years and then they discontinued it due to low sales (aka low effectiveness). Later, Chevy makes some changes to performance, as well as some aesthetic alterations, and BOOM! It’s a few of the most expensive just-under-luxury cars on the market.

It was on FUD, when it all crash lands on Requiem there are some scattered around the wreckage etc.

Really?
In my playthroughts of the levels prior to Infinity I have never seen a DMR. Only when we find that Marine in the start of Infinity do we find a DMR.

This, it gets annoying explaining this over and over XD
