Duji from MLG looked very close at Halo 4 and found out this:
Note 1: All three weapons have no actual bloom. They’re just a way of telling your rate of fire. How many times does 343i have to tell you!?
Note 2: These statics WILL be changed in the future before going gold.
Note 3: Keep it clean. Carbine
18 shots per clip
7 shots to kill
2 kills per clip (max) (2 kills and 4 shots [4 shots being 4/7ths of a kill] ~2.57142857 kills)
42 frames per kill
1.4 seconds to kill (exact)
DMR
15 shots per clip
5 shots to kill
3 kills per clip (max) (3 exactly)
44 frames per kill
1.46 (repeating 6) seconds to kill
BR
12 shots per clip (36 bullets)
5 shots to kill
2 kills per clip (max) (2 kills and 2 shots [2 shots being 2/5ths of a kill] = 2.4 kills)
55 frames per kill
1.83 (repeating 3) seconds to kill
So I think:
DMR>Carbine>BR
But there are downfalls for DMR and Carbine:
DMR: Hard to use.
Carbine: More spread.
What do you think?

I would say the Carbine at close/mid range combat. However, I do think that the BR is easier to use in my opinion. But at mid/far range combat: I would say the DMR.
I hope they change the stats. Each weapon should allow 3 kills per clip if all shots land, and BR needs a RoF buff. It should not be DMR>Carbine>BR, it should be DMR=Carbine=BR.
There is really nothing to think about.
The BR kills 0.4 Seconds slower. If you land a perfect 5 shot whit it a dmr user has to miss 1 time and a carbine user 2 times in order for you to win. However, if you just miss a single bullet out of the 15, which is very likely, the br-killtime increases over 2 seconds. This is to slow for a game that uses sprint as a standard. Change the br to 4 shot and its balanced with the other two.
Also the burst of the br is not a advantage over singleshot. Yes, it´s easier to get a headshot with it, but this advantage appears first in your 6st shot (after you missed 1 or more bullets during the first 5 shots.)
I dont know why they need 3 (maybe 4 with that forerunner gun?) headshot rifles in the game. It seems like theyve thrown the traditional concept of a weapons sandbox out the window in favour of letting everyone choose what they want off spawn all the time. The prevalence of DMR starts in reach bears this out, even though the game works best with AR/magnum start.
Oh well, im sure it will play great anyway. And now nostalgic BR kids get to see what it feels like to have some other weapon dominating their face every single time.
Bullet magnetism should be something to consider as well. While the carbine may the fastest, it might end up with the least amount of magnetism, making it not a noob’s weapon.

From what i read this seems to be precisely 343’s intention. carbine is best in close, dmr is best out long, BR fits in the middle, best at neither but good at both

After reviewing one of the MLG videos on youtube, I was able to go frame by frame and it appeared to me, that Neighbor was able to fire the DMR faster than the bloom was able to reset. So I’m not so sure about the DMR not having actual bloom, I could be wrong but that’s what it looked like.
