im not sure if this discussion has been brought up before but im curious to know what everyone’s take is on swat starting weapons. i prefer a dmr personally honestly because i feel more comfortable using it vs a br.
I think that you should spawn with a BR and a Magnum, like you used to, and I also think DMRs should be placed on the map. I think that would make Swat much more interesting.
I don’t understand a preference of any of them in Swat other than maybe reticle preferences. all are one shot kill for headshots. Although the rifles could be better on the bigger maps where you have long lines of sight. I like the pistol as it forces up close encounters. It forces more movement around the maps.
I wouldn’t mind if they added DMR SWAT to the rotation.
dmr’s scope is better than the br’s honestly. thats one reason i can think of. also i think the dmr is more precise as well. the br is a 3 shot and it can spray a little too.

We could have a DMR variant put in, I don’t see why it isn’t currently in SWAT at the moment.
There’s nothing like the DMR in SWAT to me. Poppin heads with 1 quick shot and moving on. Felt great in Reach. 3 shot burst just doesn’t feel as good.
That said, Halo 5 swat is pretty good.

Now thats how it should be for every game if swat.
I’d love to have a DMR gametype in the SWAT playlist. If nothing else to change it up. I’d also like to have a “Pick your own loadout” as a gametype in SWAT. To see who favors what, and for it to be more competitive for everyone to pick their best weapon.
While we’re at it… SWAT on BTB maps please with BRs or DMRs.
As for preference, they both work well.
A DMR playlist would be fun. Or if they would bring back map voting! Big team Swat would be so awesome!

I’m glad you and I can agree. BTB maps feel perfectly suited for that long range DMR /BR kill shot.
I’d like to see how dmr swat would work out. Maybe they’ll add it to the rotation someday, or as a weekend playlist.
I personally don’t care since I’m not a huge SWAT player, but I like the BR.

That’d be cool! I prefer the BR but the DMR as well as the other precision weapons don’t seem to be getting as much love these days.
I love the DMR and would like a DMR Swat playlist rotation. Heck I’d even take the BR rotation! all I seem to get is Swatnums…I mean come on guys its like 6/10 games are Swatnums for me, I don’t hate it just prefer BR over Pistol if that’s all we get.
I’ve always preferred the DMR over the BR, I think adding a DMR SWAT variant would be a great idea. But being able to pick up the DMR in any SWAT match is a good idea as well.
I have long been wanting some weapon pads for swat. Make it more interesting and give us some weapon spawns to fight for. Think of SWATnums with a couple weapon pads that give DMR’s, Carbines, Light Rifles, etc. It would add some variety while also making us fight for control of those weapons as they have better scopes, power, or rate of Fire (Carbine).
On a side note, I think a Shotgun/Scattershot variant of Swat would be fun as well, as long as it includes some Scoped weapons at weapon pads. It would make for some fun close range fights as well as bring everyone into a war for the scope weapons which will be legit power weapons compared to the starting close range weapon.
I guess what I am trying to say, give us some more variety!!! Please!
I love SWAT. I think that they should put a DMR SWAT in the rotation, so you always have the possibility of BR, DMR, or pistol matches. I do think SWAT maps with the ability to pick up a DMR/BR would be fun also. I enjoyed that in Halo 4, it made for some interesting matches. Plus, I always found it rewarding to kill someone with the DMR when they are throwin three shots down range to kill me.
