First post here… I haven’t taken part in any type of forum in a while. I wanted, with my first post, to address the animosity between battle rifle and dmr players. Something I don’t understand is the “noob calling” that’s going on between them. I use neither to be completely blunt, I used to use the dmr in the first few days but since I unlocked the light rifle it is now my rifle of choice… A friend of mine and I did some testing on weapons seeing as there are no real weapon stats released, and the conclusion is that the DMR and Battle rifle both kill in the same amount of shots. Believe it or not, go test it yourself. But they both kill in the same amount of shots. The only difference being, if a player with a dmr misses, there is no damage done. A battle rifle user can have one or two from his three round burst miss, but still hit with one or two. In all seriousness… what is all the complaining for? Did we all just turn twelve?
I maxed my light rifle comendations, then switched to BR. I find that the BR is better at close-mid range than lightrifle in all honesty. Wishing I had maxed my br commendations first =P
For me in Halo reach there is no battle rifle just a dmr.But when I shot someone In the head like 12 times they are not dead.but in halo 4 a battle rifle in a few shots the enemy will be dead. That is what I like about Halo 4 how they make it more realistic to the books. You take damage faster.

The BR simply annoys me since everyone uses it and it is too effective from mid-range. Unfortunately that is all based on in-game annoyance on my part and in reality they are balanced.

Did you really have to necropost this? There have been plenty of more recent variants of this exact thread that pit the Battle Rifle against the DMR. You would have been better off posting in one of those.

This thread was started 9 Months ago, you know before the weapon tuning? Don’t bring back old threads. When you click next page, make sure you actually hit next page and not last page.
EDIT: Crap I was ninja’d.

Let’s not be necroposting… This is a nine month old thread!
OT: The DMR will get shredded by the BR within mid-to-close range; however, the DMR will shred the BR in long range.
It depends on what situation I’m in. In close to mid range combat, I use the BR, but if I need to be precise or I’m shooting long-range, I use the DMR. I myself am not a huge fan of the Lightrifle, but I don’t use it that often.
