I may be mistaken but I was under the impression that with Anniversary would finally come the removal of the DMR’s bloom. I played the TU beta playlist in which there was No Bloom gametype…and it was completely awesome. Now that I popped in Anniversary last night, jumped into a quick game on Ridgeline, the DMR was still with bloom. Does it have to a specified gametype like in the TU beta playlist to get no bloom?
I understand that this is still going on. I haven’t actually played the game yet but I feel that 343i needs to possibly take bloom out all together or make a certain playlist for it. I was under the impression that there would be zero bloom in all CEA playlists.
I see, no Zero Bloom gametype in the Anniversary playlist. It’s just 85 with the TU update changes unless you play classic. I believe you were mistaken if you thought Anniversary was going to see the end of bloom.
It get’s worse though…unless you play classic, Armor Abilities are still around in BTB, FFA, and Squad.
That blows. Hard.
Yup, bloom still exists even though halfway through the TU Beta list they had to readjust the weighting on the ZB gametypes because that is what the majority of the community wanted. The community wanted no bloom, but they decided to include bloom in anniversary. Makes sense right?
they’ve said that they didn’t want the MM component of Halo: Anniversary to take away from Halo: Reach, which is still plenty active.
So it makes sense overall to have a situation where the DMR bloom is cut a little so you don’t have glaring differences from playlist to playlist.
But they said repeatedly that they wanted the most classic experience they could provide. Bloom isn’t classic at all. Bloom is Shadowrun.
And if that is the case, why tease us with it in the TU Beta playlist? What was the point of the list, that showed people wanted ZB gametypes, when they aren’t even going to use it in MM??
Good…
That makes killing you Utility Weapon Fans with Needlers much easier for me.
I swear, does nobody consider using Automatic and Power Weapons? It seems to me that people these days only want changes to the Utility Weapons.
I’d rather not let the weapon’s sandbox be broken if you don’t mind…

While I’m really disappointed that there is no zero bloom DMR gametypes it makes sense that there is no DMR in the classic setting. Halo CE didn’t have a rifle like that hence why you get AR and pistol starts. What annoys me is there IS bloom on the pistol. How the hell is that classic? It seems more random then ever. And the jumping for classic is WAY off.

Yes, i was taken aback by the DMR being in classic. We already have a more effective, if flawed CE pistol (it’s random spread is holding it back but that’s about it).
Jumping is too low, 120 would be optimal IMO. It’s pretty much the only thing it Shouldn’t retain from CE. It’s a Halo stable to be able to jump fairly high in Campaign and MP.
I also lol at the kids who use AR on classic settings against the pistol.
lol

Feather the trigger and bloom doesn’t affect it, it will fire using the default spread of the pistol. Hold the trigger and it spreads more with each shot. This is EXACTLY how the Halo CE magnum worked. Get used to it. Bloom is just there now to “Show” you the spread if you hold the trigger, that’s it, and before you complain even more, Halo CE’s pistol DID have spread, it was bad too, watch pros play CE, they usually take about 7-8 shots to kill, instead of the 3 shot kill minimum. I’m sorry if you thought Halo CE was perfect and every shot would go perfectly straight and hit no matter what for easy 3-hit kills. It never worked like that. Scoring 3 shot kills in CE was DIFFICULT in almost every situation.
As per the “Jump is too low” complaints and “Lack of DMR in classic” I’m sorry, I didn’t realize in Halo CE you jumped high and had a BR like in Halo 2. Oh wait, you don’t. Get over it, it is meant to play like Halo CE, not Halo 2.

Sorry but you’re wrong about both the pistol spread and jump height, I just started up Halo CE and you’re able to crouch jump onto the tombstones that are laid out across the map, something you can’t do in the classic playlist. And from across tombstone, firing the pistol as fast as possible without holding down the trigger there is literally zero spread. None. From what I understand there was supposed to be and they fixed it when they made the PC version but it’s definitely not in the xbox version. Firing the pistol as fast as possible in the anniversary gametype the bloom or spread affects the last 4 shots.
I’m sorry but this is ridiculous. What was the point of giving us a no bloom gametype if it was only a tease? -Yoink!-, 343 give us a no bloom playlist at the very least! Immediately! If you want your population to increasingly drop, then do nothing and continue the downward spiral of this franchise’s online multiplayer.
Had I know this, I wouldn’t have been as excited as I am to get back on Reach and play with my friends again. We all have been long time, hardcore Halo fans and serious players and UNANIMOUSLY all DETEST the bloom. Remove it. Now. Keep your word and take it out like you have said on multiple occasions you would do.

If it is meant to play like CE, the pistol would be like CE. It doesn’t shoot as far, it sounds like garbage(I know, preference), the magazine size is WAY to small, and yeah I know how the H1 pistol worked, I played that campaign and system link more than most people I have ever met, and it just feels nothing like it. If you still pace your shots on the pistol are max ROF, the bloom still kicks it. I understand the “holding down the trigger bloom” as that makes sense because that is how the H1 pistol was, but the big retical, lack of range, and small mag size, it feels NOTHING like the Halo 1 pistol. Nothing…

i agree with you, i used to lan and play halo CE online all the time(xbconnect and PC)
i played split screen just last firday and the smoothness and reliability of all the guns in CE still make it the best MP experience and most fun to play, they need to remove bloom, and that would defiantly help there’s nothing classic or CE style about bloom why was there a beta for ZB if it didn’t make it to CEA? i really don’t get it…
343 really needs to fix this and do it quickly. I am talking to many people about this and they are all fed up and losing patience with this nonsense anymore.
We just want our classic Halo experience back! Please for the love of GOD!?? Why can’t these people get it right? WHY??? …EFF!
