I love the gametypes, maps, loadouts, and everything else about the upcoming competitive playlist but to have the playlist get completely destroyed by possibly making the DMR a primary weapon because it’s peoples “favorite weapon” would be ridiculous and should never be a thought in any ones mind. The only reason why it’s peoples favorite weapon is because it is so overpowered at the moment and from the sounds of it, you guys aren’t planning on updating it in the next TU. Making the DMR a primary weapon would remove the skill gap in your only truly competitive playlist and I really don’t think you’d want to do that. In other news, I just played a game of Haven where everyone was using the DMR but me. THEY WERE USING THE DMR ON THE SMALLEST MAP IN THE GAME AND WON. Does that sound right to you?
P.S. AGL’s recent tournament had BR only start and was some of the best Halo gameplay I have ever seen. Please, 343, don’t ruin something already good.
EDIT: 343i will NEVER remove the DMR nor do I expect them to. All I’m saying is either the DMR should not be in Team Throwdown or treat it as a power weapon.
I think the same too OP.
The DMR has huge aim assist and bullet magnetism and breaks map control.

Thank god someone else gets where I’m coming from. I remember Forge Test playlist and the DMR completely dominated across the map on the Lockout remake. Lockout has always been about cross map BR battles so it was “fun” to see the DMR completely ruin that map.
We should take the BR out and leave the Carbine only. Maybe the LR here and there.
> We should take the BR out and leave the Carbine only. Maybe the LR here and there.
Carbine is too weak of a weapon and the LR is just the DMR and BR combined. Leaving the BR as the primary weapon would be the better choice.
Oh the DMR is an option?
Well, there goes THAT playlist…
Seriously, how the DMR got past testing is beyond me, and it should frankly just be removed from the game.

It’s not an option. 343 said they MIGHT put DMR primary as a loadout because more than half the population uses it (only because it needs to be fixed). Hopefully they won’t put the DMR in if we can get more threads like this one going.
In Throwback, lets keep classic weapons. Not bad ones.
343 is you can see this; PLEASE KEEP THE DMR OUT OF THROWBACK.
I want to see a playlist where the BR will rule for once.
The DMR in its current state does not belong in a competetive playlist. If they give it a much needed nerf and introduce a BR vs DMR start into the voting system then I’ll be ok with it.
Just to be safe, if a game is voted BR start then the DMR should not even appear on the map as a pickup and vice versa.

It’s not an option. They are thinking of putting in a slayer DMRs gametype, which would give everyone DMRs.

They already have a slayer DMR gametype. It’s called Infinity Slayer : p.

Once again, the aim assist and bullet magnetism are the same across all precision loadout rifles, except the Carbine, which has slightly higher bullet magnetism. In fact, because of the larger reticule on the BR and Carbine, consistent shots at mid/close range are easier because Red Reticule is easier to acquire and maintain. The DMR is the best rifle of the choices available, but those two factors have nothing to do with it. It is because of it’s kill time, high clip size and near-unlimited range.

Do you just copy/paste this everywhere you go? I’m not arguing but I’ve seen this 3 times now today.
I don’t, but you know, I probably should. It’s just that misinformation about the DMR (and weaponry/whatever it may be) in general just creates more complainers, and we have plenty enough of those.
Not saying there isn’t a valid reason to complain about the DMR, but a lot of people see falsities about it on the forums and then echo them off themselves, leading others to do the same. Whenever I see this parroted, I’ve begun to start posting the above.
Actually, DMR shouldn’t be in any game mode…
Its 343i decision wether the DMR should removed or not. Not the people of the Forums to say it needs to be removed.
Not sure about when they might add a throwback playlist but as for the upcoming competitive Team Throwdown playlist, yes DMR should be in.

Not really. It’s called throwback for a reason. But I assume we’ll get some ripoff of throwback that has both DMR’s and sprint.
