I’ve been playing for a bit and I’ve always been a fan of the Battle Rifle like most people. Reach introduced the DMR and minus the bloom effect is a pretty accurate weapon. In this game I haven’t really been able to figure out which is more powerful. I would assume the battle rifle since it’s a 3-shot burst but what do you guys think? Thanks for the input!

I would say they are really evenly matched. Depends on whose driving which is better…
I’ll use the DMR from time-to-time, but my heart belongs to the BR and I’ll continue to use it. It’s still my ToD.
I prefer BR but the DMR is better to the point that it needs nerfed.
It was supposed to be:
Long Range: DMR>BR
Medium Range:DMR=BR
Close Range:DMR<BR
But it’s more like:
Long Range: DMR>BR
Medium Range:DMR>BR
Close Range:DMR=BR
I do agree that the battle rifle is my favorite and its my #1 primary weapon but I’m just trying to get a sense of when to go with the DMR.
DMRs better at medium and long range. It’s a toss-up at short range. Overall the DMR is more versatile, and it seems to have more aim assist than the BR.

Maps like Ragnarok are the best place to use the DMR. Lots of long lines of sight. The BR can work here, too, but this map is pretty much the DMR’s turf.
It also seems like the reduced the bloom on the DMR making it even more effective. And thanks BansheeBomber I hadn’t really noticed a difference in the aim-assist but I’ll be on the look out for it now.
The DMR is a million times better. Why do you have to lead your shots with the BR while the DMR is a perfect shot and is a whole stronger? The BR should be a 4 shot kill
The Battle Rifle is for close to medium range combat while the Designated Marskman Rifle is meant for long range combat. I use one or the other depending on which map is picked. Overall, I choose the Carbine for close-medium-long range combat; it works beautifully.

Even at close range I can beat people with a DMR when they have a BR
i really wanted the BR to be just as good as the DMR, but the seems to be the better weapon.
ive been on both ends of the BR vs. DMR battle and the DMR is more effective at all ranges.
