Has anyone else noticed how many more shots it takes to kill with the DMR?? Was it nerfed or was the headshot hit box decreased?
People are saying it got nerfed but I personally don’t notice much of a difference
DMR being nerfed is a good thing…
I was just curious if the info got included in an update and I missed it. It seems to me that the headshot hit box decreased in size because there art times I can still 4 shot people but others it’s taking 5-7.
I’m also noticing that sometimes it’s taking 2 headshots to kill em after shields pop.
There hasn’t been any new updates to download so the couldn’t be any nerfing done. Unless the update came out within the last 6 hours I’ve been here at work.
They can do “hot fixes” that don’t require a full blown update. They did them all the time in Reach and MW3.
Speaking of which, has anyone noticed that shielded enemies seemingly become invincible during their recoil animations after you pop their shields? I get it particularly with Promethean Knights. I pop their shields, and dump 3-4 DMR shots into their face while they’re recoiling (red reticle, over the head, and I get hit indicators around my reticle), and they just eat the bullets until they stand back upright, and then I can shoot them once more in the head and they die. Elites do it as well occasionally. That can’t be working as intended.
Anyone have a list of what balances have been changed since the game’s release? It feels like some weapons like the Suppressor and Scattershot received a boost to their strength and increased range.

You could never 4 shot with the dmr.
I doubt it, 343 would’ve made an anouncement about those changes by now (not to mention alot more topics would be popping up about it).

Yeah, I liked Halo 3 too.
…wait, what?

I’ve seen that happen as well. Not entirely sure as to why however…
I think it’s that the hitbox for the head also swings around during the recoil animation and as that makes the head much more difficult to follow we simply miss the first couple of shots or they just register as body shots.

Knights have extra frames of invincibility during their teleportation animations too. I’ve gotten them weak then stuck them, and the plasma grenade vanished while they teleported. I’ve also seen them eat binary rifle shots, dodge incinerators by teleporting, and even saw one go to teleport in the middle of a teammate sword lunging at one, then proceeded to warp behind him and scattershot him in the face. Laughed REALLY hard at that one.

Hmmmmmm…I know I’ve done it. I swear it. But, maybe I’m just playing this wishing it was H3 and I’m mistaken. Either way, I’ve noticed a difference in the last month. Gonna see if I can get a vid in my fileshare.

That’s the knights just being -Yoinks!-, it’s much more annoying when a Elite recoils and you can’t headshot then until they recover. Don’t know why at all.

Weird. I could’ve sworn you can headshot the Elites in mid-recoil. Maybe it was a fluke and it was actually bodyshot damage that killed him? Or maybe you can still headshot them mid-animation, but the hitbox is misleading compared to the actual visual?
I haven’t noticed a difference.
> I haven’t noticed a difference.
youll never notice the difference because the dmr takes no skill.
I have not noticed any difference in the DMR. However, it seems like the boltshot might have had a range nerf. IDK
