Slow the ROF just a tad bit. Less than a second, maybe half a second, or something like that.
I don’t mind the gun at all. However, because of the ROF it currently has, it’s doing something it’s not supposed to be doing, and that is winning/doing amazing at all ranges.
343i said the DMR is great for long range, and good for mid range but will lose against both the BR and Carbine while at close range it gets dominated.
The ROF is against this completely. If the ROF is toned down a bit, it’ll still do amazing at long range like it’s supposed to, but will lose at mid range and definitely close range.
My friend and I did at test with the DMR and BR. At mid range, the BR always won by 1 shot. However, recoil, bullet spread, and strafing were not put into account. With ROF toned down, the BR would win most of the time in mid ranges, even with these three put into account, like it’s supposed to do. If you tone down the ROF just a bit, the DMR won’t get demolished, but neither will the BR.
At close range in the tests, the DMR and AR were random. Sometimes the DMR would win, sometimes the AR. This should not be the case. At all. With the ROF toned down just a bit, the AR will always win, like it’s supposed to do.
When trying to run away from the DMR because you know you’re not going to win, it’s hard to get away, even if the door is very close. The reason is the ROF. Yes, 5 shots should be enough time to get away, and yes the Sprint slow down when damaged should be taken into account. However, when the ROF for the DMR is so high that just getting around a door when it’s behind you is ridiculous.
So, once again, tone down the ROF for the DMR by just a bit, not by a second because that’d be too much, but some kind of tone down would be nice.
