Please explain to me why they think the DMR is OP.
I look on here and I swear I think the DMR is the best gun ever made in any video game.
I think the game is balanced…
People only think the DMR is OP because the BR is severely underpowered. People really want to use the BR because of nostalgia.
I warned people about the 5SK BR being useless. Lo and behold: it is!
The one complaint I have is that the bloom on it isn’t large enough. There’s not much need for pacing even when cross mapping. The DMR in Reach had more severe bloom for a reason. It wasn’t just there to piss people off.
It is the best gun ever made, that’s the problem. It completely destroys all other weapons making it pointless to even pick another one up.
I use the BR consistently and I do just fine with it. It feels really good and in a one-on-one I always feel like I can win it.
Most of the guns are perfectly fine except the carbine . . . the poor, poor forgotten carbine . . .
would be better if i got one that shots purple unicorns

The DMR in Reach had large bloom because Bungie doesn’t know how to balance long range weapons other than adding randomness. It would be pointless to add more bloom to the DMR, since a larger reticle is easier to aim with up close.
OP’s most used weapon is the DMR of course he dosen’t want it to be nerfed maybe you should spend the week using the BR or the Carbine then talk about the DMR

Well, statistics are against you. No matter how many people want to claim “I use the [insert weapon here] fine against DMR users” the fact of the matter is it has the fastest kill time of all loadout weapons and beats them all by a big margin.

In their intended range, the Storm Rifle and Suppressor will beat a DMR.

Because it’s single shot, and it’s “Stronger” than everyone’s favorite Battle Rifles that in the past was always a god weapon, and because single shot weapons are stronger than burst weapons because instead of having a 50/50 chance of hitting your target or wasting ammo, you got a 1 in 3 chance of hitting your target.

Why should anyone use an inferior weapon? Buff the BR and Carbine before I’ll use them. Nerfing things is wrong, and will just make this game a Reach remake. I was tired of the lethargic killtimes from Reach, and was glad to learn that Halo 4 featured a very fast-killing arsenal.
Buff everything to be the best in class, not nerf everything to be the D-average student.

I think we should just take the DMR out of the game and bring it into the real world, that way we can destroy all that oppose us in a 2 shot fury of over powered
Also -Yoink- anyone who uses that gun, and you dot need to make a new thread to find the answer your looking for
A slight reduction to the RoF, and I think it would be fine. It would make it less viable at closer ranges.

I thought the carbine has the fastest kill time of the 4 P.rifles. The Ar, and SR beat the DMR at close range. The carbine an BR beats it at close range as well(when I use it at least) and at mid range the BR normal wins thanks to the DMR missing shots normally and a skilled carbine user would win too. Long range the DMR takes te cake though.
The DMR as I’ve seen so far by complaints is the shots it takes to kill a player (no pun intended.) It takes four shots to kill someone with the DMR (headshots), and that is so far why I’ve seen why players complain about this online. I’ve did a few tests and they were right, only four shots. Plus the bloom is small, very small, to the point where it acts like there is almost no bloom at all.
This is what I’m seeing on others perspectives of complaints, I’ve did the tests and they were as I’ve been told.
To be honest i do love the DMR always have regardless of this or that. It is a gun that fits my play style but also waiting to see if i can get the shotgun in my loadouts for spartan ops and i may use the dmr less.
