of course dmr whores don’t want their crutches taken away. then they would have to use a gun they actually have to aim with!!!@ actually they would all switch to ar
Well excuse me. I’m sure anyone would defend their favorite weapon no matter what it is. Also, I have been winning games long before I started using the DMR.
> of course dmr whores don’t want their crutches taken away. then they would have to use a gun they actually have to aim with!!!@ actually they would all switch to ar
Calling people noobs and whores just because they use the best weapon available to them is just absurd.
Leave the DMR alone! just leave it alone.
What is this? I don’t even… there will always be a weapon superior to others in a Halo game. It doesn’t matter, take the DMR out and you will start getting raped with the BR. Just get better and stop complaining about the things in the game that don’t even matter. How about implementing a -Yoink!- ranking system that promotes winning rather than people playing objective games and running down the timer to farm kills. Now that’s a real problem

i call myself a vehicle/br -Yoink!- all the time. it is all i use. i don’t think the dmr is the best weapon in the game. i’m not stupid enough to try engaging it in situations my weapon isn’t suited for. and every other time i beat it. i think it is very easy to use, and a lot of people wouldn’t be able to get kills without it. when i play splitscreen with my little brother he has to use it since his aim is horrible. it is a crutch for bk’s.

I think it’s the best precision loadout weapon overall, but that’s just my opinion. So according to you everyone who uses it is bad?

no, not exactly what i meant. plenty of good players use it, but it is a good crutch for bad players.

Fair.
> Why not just use the DMR. Not using the best weapon and then complaining about it seems odd. If its that OP in your opinion, just use it.
some people refuse to descend to such a -yoink- level.
Removing the DMR is a slippery slope, BR goes next.

Sarcasm? It’s your most used weapon.
> no. remove the DMR and you end up with someone who is completely untouchable when they have a sniper.
The -Yoink- kind of reasoning is this?
First of all, you have a battle rifle and cover on the map, you can get into medium range then take the sniper out. This is how it used to be, and it is fine.
Second, the DMR isn’t the only long range weapon. There is something called the “Light Rifle”, stop relying on crutchy aim assist and learn to use it.
Third, the sniper rifle is a power weapon. It is supposed to be advantageous.
> better than the BR when not.
It’s WORSE than the BR when un-scoped, it fires slower and if I remember right it is a five shot kill.
all of you just straight up suck! the BS and incineration cannon is fine, the dmr is a noobs gun and i agree that it should be very hard to use at close range
Why do people have to act like spoiled brats? If you want an easy game, go play CoD and then brag about it to your friends or something. The DMR is not as strong as you think, it has a very slow fire rate and heck, it even takes 5 shots to kill someone with it. I’m really considering testing out the Light Rifle cause yes, I have a 0.76 KDR and I’m done playing the good guy.
You know, this is probably the simplest way to go about the DMR issue. If it were removed from loadouts, it wouldn’t have to be nerfed at all, which I suspect is preferable to nerfing it (for those who use it, that is). If they also put loadout weapons on the map like H3/R, or at least the DMR like that, it wouldn’t even be a nerf. Nothing more than a simple readjustment that would really touch the game up a bit (and it needs a hell of a lot of polish).
I definitely support this change, as it would balance the DMR without nerfing it, put weapons back on the map (which is nice and traditional), make larger maps more interesting and tactical and, I feel, improve the game quite a bit.

The DMR outguns the BR without being much harder to use, along with having extreme long-range effectiveness. It shuts down Sniper Rifles and Battle Rifles, along with giving the automatics a damn good run or killing their users even well into THEIR particular CQC niche.
5 shots? Shots taken, damage done and RoF all come down to one thing: Time to Kill, and the DMR is quicker than the BR.
Doesn’t sound right. The Light Rifle is an interesting weapon to mention, because it’s well balanced: worst at CQC, best at long range.
Go ahead, use the Light Rifle. In fact, please, use it. It’s a well-balanced weapon with clear strengths that are appropriately strong. There’s nothing wrong with using that.
0.76 K/D? Ouch, but practice makes better.
“all of you just straight up suck!”
Oh how very eloquent of you. Well done. You really stuck it to… whoever you were talking to.
Honestly make it so you have to lead your bullets at a further range and it will be fine bullet magnetism and aim assist should be toned down for everything, but that’s a different story.
I think the weapons of halo 4 would be much more balanced if each weapon class did the same damage. IE: assault rifle, storm rifle, supressor did the same damage. Dmr, BR, Carbine, Light Rifle do the same damage. Balance between weapons. I’ve noticed the balance issue with forerunner weapons, namely the binary rifle. When sniping with that it doesn’t matter if I shoot the chest or head, they always die from one shot regardless of where it strikes, whereas the beam and sniper rifle take two body shots.
The sad thing is, bungie never meant to have the br and dmr be in the same game. The dmr was supposed to be the army “equivalent” to the marine br, which is why reach had the dmr and halos 2 and 3 had the br.
Then someone thought it was a good idea to cater to halo 3 and reach players by changing up the canon and having both in instead of continuing the mm of halo 3. Now we are stuck at this problem where we have two different weapons that served pretty much the same purpose in the first games they were in, and now somehow serve different roles in halo 4.
The dmr is nice and everything, but its only been in one other game. The br has been in two. That being said, I know which of the two I want to go.

Technically they are both a new model…
Anyway, to people who say the DMR is fine and should be left alone, I would like to ask you one question: Do you enjoy ruining people’s fun by ruining map movement and everyone has to hide behind a rock just to survive when in Halo 3, you had to lead your shots and you can actually move if need be without the risk of being spammed by DMR’s? Do you really want Halo to be like this where you can’t even move 5 feet without being shot by a DMR?
And don’t expect me to be Mr. Nice Guy about this, I have extremely strong feelings towards the balancing of ALL the Rifles compared to the DMR, Light Rifle I don’t care about how strong it is considering how MM is now canon and Forerunner weapons are meant to be strong if 343 is taking it that way. Seriously, you don’t need much skill to get 5 shots off and have a kill by then with the DMR with it’s heavy bullet magnetism and heavy aim assist thats it’s not even funny.
I want Halo 4 to be different than the others, I don’t want a dominant weapon thats not classified as a power weapon. If theres custom loadouts, then I don’t want people to just use the DMR or be forced to use it if they want to win. Custom Loadouts were made to cater to a persons playstyle, not to create a loadout that is practically forced upon them if they want to win.
