Hi, this is my first topic.
I had an idea of what to do with the DMR. Simply remove it from the loadouts. If 343 did this, then each faction would have a precision weapon, an automatic weapon, a secondary weapon, and a grenade. Each faction’s weapons would be relatively balanced then. The DMR could be a personal ordnance drop and a random initial drop. It would be about the same level as a needler. Thoughts?

no. remove the DMR and you end up with someone who is completely untouchable when they have a sniper. rather than all you -Yoink- getting bent outta shape because you get owned by DMR realize you guys suck. and that’s why you’re getting killed by it. the DMR in reach was more powerful than the one in H4 with regards to other weapons. the fact that no matter what weapon anyone else had in reach i could kill them with the DMR. that’s not the case in this game at all.
i mean seriously how do any of you idiots think the DMR is OP? the only weapon in this game that is OP is the -Yoinking!- boltshot
I notice a lot of people complain about the DMR here… yet NO ONE complains about the light rifle which is more power than the DMR when you zoom and better than the BR when not.
I wouldn’t remove it entirely, just make it a weapon drop and not a loadout.
Why not just use the DMR. Not using the best weapon and then complaining about it seems odd. If its that OP in your opinion, just use it.
The DMR needs to be balanced. Given its nature as a precision weapon and the lore-driven structure of multiplayer, I feel the best way to do this is through recoil. A marksman rifle (as in the class of real weapons, not just the DMR from Halo) is going to kick like a mule unless you’re prone when firing it. So give the DMR the appropriate amount of recoil. At range, where people tend to be slower on the trigger with a DMR, the recoil won’t be much of an issue. Up close or under higher rates of fire, the recoil puts you off target and gets you killed.
The DMR should retain its ability to give you a fighting chance against a sniper and have the edge at medium-long range. But using it up close should be a death sentence. It is not, and thus the weapon is unbalanced.

Because it has no bullet magnetism and little aim assist also it cant be spammed like the DMR can at close range.
I use the DMR and am not as opposed to it as others, but I thought it would be the best balance because it would make the number of weapons from each faction equal and just seems to make sense.
NEVER remove the DMR! I love that weapon and it is my favorite! I achieved mastery with it and it is my absolute favorite weapon. Also, the DMR should not be ordnance either.
And if anyone wants to talk about overpowered then consider the Incineration Cannon, especially in Abandon or Haven, which has happened many times.

Well excuse me. I’m sure anyone would defend their favorite weapon no matter what it is. Also, I have been winning games long before I started using the DMR.

What is this? I don’t even… there will always be a weapon superior to others in a Halo game. It doesn’t matter, take the DMR out and you will start getting raped with the BR. Just get better and stop complaining about the things in the game that don’t even matter. How about implementing a -Yoink!- ranking system that promotes winning rather than people playing objective games and running down the timer to farm kills. Now that’s a real problem

i call myself a vehicle/br -Yoink!- all the time. it is all i use. i don’t think the dmr is the best weapon in the game. i’m not stupid enough to try engaging it in situations my weapon isn’t suited for. and every other time i beat it. i think it is very easy to use, and a lot of people wouldn’t be able to get kills without it. when i play splitscreen with my little brother he has to use it since his aim is horrible. it is a crutch for bk’s.

no, not exactly what i meant. plenty of good players use it, but it is a good crutch for bad players.

Removing the DMR is a slippery slope, BR goes next.
