DMR confirmed to be back !?!?!?

in a recent interview frank said that the Battle rifle is not a replacement for the DMR and also a few people apparently saw another video that showed a DMR and Frank kind of mentions that in the video below
skip to 2.15 for that part

another thing that support this is that in one of the bulletins question frank answered that there will be a variety of weapons to choose from that have the same purpose

If they do bring a DMR back then that just -Yoinks!- up the logic of Halo.

The BR replaced the DMR. All the military units and everyone disposed of the DMR when the BR was released.

He said one-shot weapons will be in the game.

Not necessarily the DMR…

They could easily make up a reason for a crate of DMRs being there. But it’s still not confirmed. The OP just thinks it’s there. no proof yet.

That is why on Reach they had DMR’s and the BR had been in circulation for about 20 years already?
The Marines had their DMR’s replaced with BR’s and the Army got the DMR’s.

He said that one shot weapons will be back. The BR may not be a replacement for the DMR, but one of the new weapons might be.

“It is the Battle Rifle. It’s not the DMR being shown today”

The implication here is that the DMR will be shown at a later date and for this to happen it has to be in the game.

“It is not a replacement for the DMR”

This is still referring to the BR. If it’s not a replacement for the DMR, then what is the replacement for the DMR? If there is no replacement for the DMR, as suggested by the first quote, the DMR has to be in the game.

Or, since he’s going to a planet we don’t know. there could be new weapons there. Like a new single shot weapon that isn’t the DMR.

This. Hopefully its some alien single shot weapon reminiscent of the carbine.

DMR and BR both in the same game?

That would actually be a very interesting thing to see. It would sort of be like Gears of War’s Retro Lancer and Lancer guns both being in the same game. That would also be similar to Halo 2’s Plasma Rifle and Brute Plasma Rifle.

I’m not really against this idea :stuck_out_tongue:

The DMR and NR were both better then the carbine…I hope they bring them back

I think what Frank means is that the weapon being shown IS the Battle Rifle, just incase anyone that started with Reach might get confused. The Battle Rifle is not the weapon that is replacing the DMR, but the new One-shot weapon is (whatever that may be).

I see the service of the Battle Rifle and the Designated Marksman Rifle as a Marine and Army sort of thing. UNSC shipborne marines are armed with the Battle rifle while Ground borne Army Company guys use the Designated Marksman Rifle.

I thought Frankie said there will be one-shot weapons including the BR, so that doesn’t necessarily mean the DMR.

Carbine is my guess, if not… Then the needle rifle…???

Since when has multiplayer cared about campaign canon? Respawning, weapons magically appearing from thin air, teams of Spartans and Elites randomly shooting the **** out of each other… canon doesn’t come into it.

Plus there’s the fact that 343i own the canon now. They can easily just say “oh no, the DMR wasn’t actually phased out at all, it was mixed in with the BR” and chuck a bunch of them in the campaign.

One shot weapons; the Carbine is a 1 shot weapon, so that might be returning, or something entirely new.

doesnt matter to me what guns are in the game only thing i dont want is stupid armor lock or jet packing noobs takes the fun out of halo needs to be classic style bring all the community back to halo
