DMR Balance and Halo 4

Maybe I missed something, but how exactly is this thing going to be balanced in Halo 4? They’ve already stated no form of bloom to manage shots is currently present in Halo 4 at the moment, just weapon recoil.

However, it’s semi-auto single shot and not a burst of bullets like the BR, and will probably have a very pinpoint reticle.

Unless they give this thing extremely jerky recoil all over the place after every shot, what’s stopping it from becoming just another mini super accurate sniper rifle?

Large Recoil.
Decreased auto aim.
Slower rate of fire.
Recoil.

gasp

But yeah, what you said, sort of.

But it won’t fire as fast, so it will have a disadvantage at closer ranges, but an advantage at long ranges, due to it’s accuracy. They aren’t supposed to be balanced, I mean in a sense, yes. Just balanced more in the way that Snipers are balanced against Shotguns, they fill their niche.

I think they may also control the fire rate the same way they control the BR’s fire rate.

well if you tried to snipe with it at a long distance the small upward recoil would probably be much more significant, causing you to probably aim way above the enemy. Add that to the fact the your enemy will be running around, it would take a lot more correcting after each shot. Also long distance=no red crosshair(aka no aim assist) which makes it a lot harder to track an enemy. A few drawbacks, but perhaps and skilled player can pull it off with practice.
This is just speculation, i am not sure how it would work though so we’ll just have to wait and see.
