DMR and BR difference

Can someone please explain to me how they are balanced or in gameplay wise different?

huh?

The BR is finally not OP now that it is a 5sk.

You know, things like Damage, Range and rate of fire.

Dmr is for range, BR is for close quarter. BR is a burst fire weapon, while the DMR is a single shot.

Not gonna lie, the BR was only OP in Halo 2 because of Glitches, and it wasn’t OP in Halo 3 at all. Dual Plasma Rifles, Carbines, ARs, they stood just as good a chance of winning.

The DMR actually IS OP, because if you aren’t using it or a power weapon, you are literally screwed, it out DPSes all the other basic weapons, where the BR did less damage, but at with alot more range.

The DMR fires at the same speed as the BR, kills in 5 shots and is more accurate.

The BR fires at the same speed as the DMR, kills in 5 shots and is less accurate (has more spread). It kills approximately 0.3 seconds slower than the DMR.

Agreed. There’s nothing stopping the DMR from dominating.

They both do well at mid-range. DMR is better suited for long range while BR is better for close range.

So now it’s significantly underpowered compared to the DMR and Carbine but if it was a 4sk it would be perfectly balanced with them.

Not really, if used correctly the DMR is better at all ranges.

No it doesn’t. The DMR is faster.

Seriously?

Hopefully they fix that before the game ships. I’m sure I’ll be going for the DMR more than the BR, but it would be nice if the BR had a little something over the DMR.

Well, if the other team is significantly worse than you you might not be screwed. But if they are remotely close to your skill level, or at all beyond it, you don’t stand a chance using even an NR against their DMRs.

I spent a very long time playing Halo Reach using mostly NRs, Plasma Repeaters, ARs, or Magnums instead of DMRs. And I didn’t have a huge problem when the other team was really bad. But if they remotely had a clue, I had no choice but to just use my DMR. And every time I DID use the DMR, I basically felt like I changed the difficulty from Legendary, to Easy.

No. They are roughly identical and I have found no evidence to support otherwise.

AR cqb-mid
BR mid-long
dmr long

5shot kill

BR- 5 shot kill gun that use 3 round bursts in a shot. Uses predictable recoil to prevent the gun from being good as good as the DMR at long distance. It is faster than the DMR (apparently).

DMR- 5 shot kill gun. Highly accurate for long range. It is slower than the BR(apparently).

In a build that was a available for E3, which happened almost 2 months ago.

Please keep it in might since its not the final product.

I find it stupid, that Battlerifle and DRM both are 5sk. Battlerifle takes 15 rounds to kill when DRM takes 5. Battlerifle shoulf be 4sk but FR could be lower so it wouldn’t be op. Making it 4sk would make it act more differently compared to DRM.
