DLC Weapons and Vehicles

I’d like the only good thing that Halo 4 added, The mantis.
I’d like to see at least all the weapons from Halo CE-Reach make a return too.

Need Gausshog and Railguns

I still want the Mantis to make a comeback into the game, and maybe an equipment that can actually repair vehicles if the game still wants to continue this whole thing about making their health as feeble as they have been making them.

Two places I found digging around, and good god I pray they all come back in the future, infinite needs some more variety than it has currently.

Hell, Halo 5 leftovers always have a chance of getting brought back if the devs update them for the new sandbox as many of the older games did, it would make social more interesting for sure.

I’m curious, and forgetting from previous conversations we’ve had… do you play much campaign?

I’m always worried when people advocate for removing content because it is “busted” (I assume you mean unbalanced in MP? Plz correct me if I’m wrong  )

I guess it feels to me like the sandbox currently suffers from a hyper-focus on balance and competitive play. I don’t think the weapon/vehicle sandbox was originally built for competition, during CE it was built for the campaign and then brought into MP. There are always going to be things that are insanely fun to use, but which will be “unbalanced.” Ten times out of ten, a Scorpion should beat a warthog, for example.

I just wish there was a version of this where everyone could be happy, and competitive MP sandbox preferences didn’t have to bring down the overall fun of the campaign by making everything on an equal field.

All I haven’t done is the co-op and LASO achievements, but I’ve gotten the speedrun one so, yes. I bought the campaign and I LOVE the Campaign.

That’s because MP was a fun “why not” last minute addon. They weren’t really intending for it to blow up - then it did, and then they had to go, “Uh hm. Okay. Well. Now we need to think about this.”

That’s fine. That’s how it’s supposed to work. Warthogs are collaborative powerhouses where a Scorpion is not - it’s a power vehicle. And that’s okay. The problem with the Gauss Warthog is that it elevates a fast attack vehicle to basically a light tank without making it any slower or any more durable. If a Gauss Warthog were more of an IFV, I’d be much happier with it.

I think there is a version like that. But the answer is to make new things that are well thought out, not to make old things that were not well thought out. The Gauss was always, in every single circumstance, superior. Even the Rocket Warthog is not better than the Chaingun Warthog, but it absolutely does some things better. (Like, frankly, dealing with vehicles. Which is fine, because you require shot-lead and skillful use. Air vehicles, they get lock-on, so it’s a hard counter to them - which is good, they deserve that hard counter.)

I suppose what I mean is that sometimes in campaign it is fun to just get a superior warthog. It is super entertaining, and I love the way the gauss cannon feels. If it isn’t well balanced in MP, then don’t put it in MP maps unless people forge it?

Yeah that’s fair. But you KNOW people would be mad that it wasn’t in matchmaking.

IMO the Gauss Hog worked pretty well in Halo 2 because you could counter it with the Scorpion, the Wraith, the Fuel Rod, or your best chance of survival: lock on Rockets. Considering how important vehicles are to the series I will never understand the removal of lock on Rox. In H3 the Missile Pod worked pretty well but was also dropped from the series.

You could always just make the Guass Hog a pelican drop similar to the Scorpion and Wraith.

I don’t see how it could ever spawn like other hogs without nerfing it so much as to defeat the purpose.
