DLC vs PayToWIn

I’ve been contemplating this idea for a while.

All the 343 defenders speak of how the microtransactions help fund the free dlc and tournaments. In all honesty, I would rather have people buy dlc than ruin my game experience with pay to win crud.

I had loads of fun with halo 3 and 4 and I didnt spend a dime on dlc. 343 needs to understand that by introducing this pay to cash grab system they are ruining the experiences of people that dont spend additional money.

“just play arena you -Yoink!- well i would be totally fine with that if there were more than, what? 4 maps?

On this note, what would you rather have, dlc or microtransactions

How about you first explain how it’s pay to win?

I’d honestly just ignore the transactions and just get the new maps when they come out. Really depressing buying map packs and never getting to play on them after like 3 months on matchmaking.

…But how does the microtransaction system “ruin the game” for anyone? This seems to be a rather important point that you completely ignored.

You use real life money to buy packs that yield in tanks and other high level weapons…

It really isn’t, unless you have an entire team who spent $100 on REQ packs then all spawned an ONI mantis.

People believe its pay to win just because of the REQ system in Warzone, arena however cannot be labeled as pay to win

Fail post is fail

I would rather the money go to charity to be honest.

Supposedly that team would be matched with a similarity whale-y team.

I mean, you can do that.

Packs that are pretty easily gained by just playing the game - it’s not like you can just spam tanks and “high level weapons” in Warzone, you still have to go out and get kills/capture bases to build up to using those weapons.

Yep

REQs don’t ruin the game. They are not pay to win because you do not have to pay to get them. They are not pay to win because they do not guarantee you a win.

/thread

You do not know what pay to win is apparently. You seem like some cry baby yuppy because your team got face rolled by people who actually used their reqs smart.
I have every req and it in no way means I am going to win or even make a difference in a match. Hell i have spawned a oni tank to have it instantly boarded outside the garage and even a time outside of home base. High tier tanks die all the same. 1 grenade from being boarded

I once spawned a nornfang spawned under a tank and instantly died.

Pay to win would be taking whiplash voids tear and oni warthog and tier 3 damage boost out of all packs purchasable by req points. Making them all req 1 and selling a platinum pack that’s 10$ per pack and can’t be bought with req points

You do not pay to win in Halo 5.

The REQ card system is RNG based, it’s all complete luck. It’s a gamble.
A person buying their first gold REQ pack with money has the same luck as someone who buys it with REQ points.

Also, take me for instance, I did buy all of my packs. I have 100% everything unlocked, but someone who just started playing has the same opportunity do unlock all of the things I have. If luck is on his side, he could unlock a Phaeton or Helljumper armor with his first Gold pack.

I’m not sure if this has been confirmed either, but apparently in Warzone you are matched with people who have similar unlocks as you do in terms of Weapons, Vehicles, Loadouts, etc. This would make since considering when I play Warzone I play matches where everyone is flying Phaetons, driving Oni Tanks, Mantises, etc. The micro-transaction ordeal in regards to Halo 5 is not an issue in my opinion, and if so, it’s a considerably small one. This game is pretty balanced if you ask me, and that’s someone who been playing Halo since 2004, on a competitive stand point too. I find this game to be very enjoyable and balanced for the most part.

Doesn’t affect me, I don’t play warzone only arena.

I’d rather have the old system of paying for maps than this current system.

-Yoink- you Microsoft.

I’d rather not have to go back to split populations and DLC only playlists.

The fanboys that are claiming that the money from the req packs seems false, 343 had these maps before the game came out so I don’t think they fund the map packs just 343 themselves and the hcs price pool.
Also I rather have the “optional” pay to the req packs then pay for dlc that I probably will never play. Also people above me have already said what I wanted to say on how its not pay2win.
