I was thinking and I believe I have thought of a real solution for those of us that have purchased the DLC maps.
343 will never enact a DLC required playlist which would be the easiest way to fix it, but they just won’t do it.
So what can be done? Here is my thought. You remember in Halo Reach you were able to select what connection you wanted, or even the personality of the players you wanted to play with. Sadly another feature that was removed.
Anyways, as we get DLC packs it would be nice to be able to select DLC only players. So when you are in MM, you will only group up with other players that have DLC content. No more crazy behind the scenes mathematical equations that is supposed to hook you up with other DLC players, but fails miserably.
If you want faster match ups turn the option off. It’s that simple. You will still search for other DLC players as a priority, but it won’t be required. I think it is too late for Halo 4, but maybe the next one we can have this option.
That actually seems like a quick and easy solution for all. Kudos OP.
The game tries to put you with people with the DLC before those who don’t already. Nice idea but the only way to fix it is to have a DLC playlist.

This. I honestly want a dlc playlist, not for me, seeing as I play my DLC quite a lot, but so that other people do not have this problem.
Other players have suggested this. Hopefully 343i is listening.
I think we should also be able to specify our preferred DLC; say for example I want to try the new Bullseye maps in Rumble Pit or Regicide; I should be able to set Bullseye as my preferred DLC, as opposed to dealing with the frustrating of being thrown into Majestic maps over and over again instead of the new maps.

Great idea, hope 343 could implement this if possible.
All a DLC Playlist that has all DLC would also be nice. And could be a Slayer and Objective Playlist.
Vote Options are:
1 = Slayer
2 = Objective
3 = Random

It’s already standard search parameters on halo 4
Squad DLC- 5v5
Majestic Pack, Champions Pack, Harvest, Daybreak, and Forge Island variants. Mix of Slayer and Objective gametypes.
BTB DLC- 8v8
Crimson Pack, Castle Pack, and Forge Island variants. Mix of Slayer and Objective gametypes.
To make room merge BTIS and BT Skirmish and remove Regicide as a standalone and put the gametype in Rumble Pit. Bam, then DLC play is completely available for those who purchased it.
343 won’t even add a “good connection” filter to prevent lag for players. Good idea but these devs won’t ever care to add something like that.

They would because the game already searches for DLC and best connection first. They listen.

That’s why at least half the games I play are lagged messes and I’ve had DLC appear less then Reach.
There was an over 100 page thread in “Matchmaking” complaining about the lack of good connection filter and not being able to play due to lag. It’s a major problem.

Thats because the connection overall is bad and not many people have DLC. The search parameters are there though so don’t slag 343 of for something they did do right.

Well, hate to point out the obvious but if not many people bought the DLC then 343 didn’t do a good job at either 1) developing the DLC to make people buy it or 2) marketing the DLC. I’d say they failed mostly at the 1st problem.
And the connection is based on host (players) so if you could filter “good connections” like previous halo’s you wouldn’t get paired with say, a player from Australia or Mexico who is hosting and forcing you to deal with lag.
Ever play doubles vs two players from Mexico? It’s a constant lag fest for one of the teams, (whoever is unlucky enough to not get host).
I suggested this on the Tournament Forum, but rather than give away lame Avatar junk, how about some DLC codes. I would rather get that. I have them all already but I do have some friends I would give it away to.
