Just like Halo 3. After a month or so, all map packs become required to play the most popular playlists. I’m fed up buying a map pack and never playing on any of the maps in the mainstream playlists, unless I want to go into the unpopular and boring Squad DLC playlist. Of course the Anniversary maps also brought new gametypes (3S pistol), so I understand the need for multiple playlists specifically for those gametypes. And they’re fun as hell
So I propose to leave Team Slayer, a FFA playlist and maybe Living Dead, MLG and Action Sack non-DLC required. Other popular playlists (BTB, Team Objective, SWAT, Team Snipers, Double Team, Arena (if it’s there) and Multi Team become DLC required to play. I still think DLC map specific playlists have a place too, though.
If ranked returns, then required DLC is must. Do away with these premium playlists that focus purely on DLC content as they have proven they cannot support a viable population.
If not, more than a few core playlists will need to have required DLC and this is something that has to be planned off the bat to succeed. If it’s implemented later with an established player base, then once again, we will have failed DLC playlists that make it very hard to find a game that isn’t laggy or full of boosters.

I think at least one “popular” playlist needs to be free. Plus, I love BTB’s massive population of noobs

They never were free. You still payed for them (60 price tag) when you bought ODST and the map packs still cost points on the market place.
You know i went back to Halo 3 not so long ago and while the maps played were mostly the stock ones, the frequency of the DLC maps that popped up were much more common than compared to Reach. Hell even played a few matches on Orbital and…ugh AR starts on Standoff…
I do agree with this. There are some DLC maps I have almost never played on. Whats the point of DLC if I can’t use them? Hopefully with people buying the limited edition there will be more people with the map packs.
> Even when I go into the DLC required playlists in Halo 3 they don’t come up very often which is disappointing.

Oh it’s easily my favorite Action Sack game by far…But I wish it were on a different map sometimes. I do love the map too but too much of a good thing and all that jazz.

I think Team Stickies was one of the most fun AS gametypes out there…Although there was that VIP-Sniper mix on the Zeus map…That was a good one xD

Run for Cover! Sadly, it rarely comes up now. And the few times we’ve gotten it to come up, people have quit or betrayed.

It kinda went from everyone agreeing with me to an Action Sack gametypes discussion
On topic…if an Anniversary-style DLC became available, should that be required to play?
Leave team doubles out of the requirement. I shouldn’t be barred from the only 2v2 playlist because I don’t feel like shelling out extra bucks for a game I already paid for.
