So, the other day I bought the DLC packs for Halo: Reach. Know, I know that they removed the DLC playlist but I figured I’d be able to play a lot of the maps in the regular playlists. But, I’ve played plenty of games and only played on like, 2 of them. Any way that I can play on the maps, not in custom games.
I came here for the same gripe. I play Rumble Pit and BTB and I RARELY get to play any of the DLC or anniv. maps that I’ve paid for. What a ripoff.
To get more often DLC maps, the lobby where you are, all players must have the DLC otherwise you won’t get the maps you want.

Here’s the kicker. You can’t play the DLC maps if you don’t have Live. When I was playing with a group of friends that had the map packs, I noticed that the maps showed up more often. So just get a group of friends with the map packs and see how it turns out.
The only thing is that only 1 of my friends has the DLC. I just wish that there was still the DLC playlist :’(

343 warned the community multiple times that Squad DLC will be removed if no one plays on it. No one did.
You can play the maps in forge mode, too. My friends and I loaded up Penance in forge mode last night and glued a series of Pelican helicopters together, forming a makeshift bridge leading from the 3-prong part of the level all the way up to the upper teleporter. It really added a lot to the map flow, and we never would have had that opportunity in ordinary matchmaking.

Don’t feel bad, many, many people feel your plight. The best course of action is to team up with a few people from the forums (there are DLC Achievement related posts everywhere) and boost your way to 1700. Good Luck.
