At this point a DLC only playlist is basically required for anyone who wants to try to get the achievements. I’ve been playing for 5 hours now and have only played on 1 DLC map so far. It would be nice being able to play the maps that I payed 60$ for. 343i is making is nearly impossible for people to get the map exclusive achievements.
I totally agree because there are so many DLC maps and i have only played one DLC map in the 5 hours i was playing last night, the map was called Vertigo.
Seriously, how is it I get a fair amount of DLC played, yet no one else seems to?

Are you playing with friends who have the DLC? Also, what playlist do you normally find it in?
They should put the 3 DLC playlists into the rotational playlist system.

I would enjoy that just as much, especially if the DLC was required to play matchmaking.
Everyone with DLC needs to post here and we need a huge thread, 90 pages full. Let’s focus our efforts people, together we are more powerful than one.
> Everyone with DLC needs to post here and we need a huge thread, 90 pages full. Let’s focus our efforts people, together we are more powerful than one.
Seriously, we should make this thread as big as possible to let 343 know that there are plenty of people who have the DLC and want to play them, but since they very rarely show up it’s almost impossible to do so.
There’s really no use, we did stuff like this before and the promised monthly dlc playlist rotations…
Guess what we never got?
I would take 343’s word with a grain of salt and just try and get so e guys together for customs games at this point…
Don’t forget, you cans till technically play the maps whenever you want
Yes! I would totally play a DLC only playlist!
A DLC playlist would be supreme. I have; in my blind loyalty, purchased all the DLC for this game. my favorite maps are Daybreak, Skyline, and harvest. but I have never gotten to play on vertigo.
Also, it would be such a silly idea not to, as long as they don’t make the whole game DLC only like I thought they were saying. that is one of the cool things about Halo 3, is that some playlists are DLC only, and some are vanilla. But it needs to be a playlist that actually sticks around. didn’t they have this issue with reach to?
Focus that fire people!
Yes to a DLC playlist. Rotating through the map packs.
I’m all for a DLC only playlist.
The rate at which we get DLC in any playlist is plain sad and is a massive kick in the nether regions to whoever trusted 343 and made the investment to buy the LE or the War Games pass.
We can’t force DLC into existing playlists because of low population, and we can’t play DLC because of low population.
A DLC playlist wont “fragment” the current population to any significant degree, the proof of this is in Majestic’s failure in Infinity Slayer. The bulk of infinity slayer’s population didn’t have it to begin with, so by making a separate playlist that requires this isn’t going to affect them and they can carry on playing Infinity.
Even if a DLC playlist is destined to be lightly populated (~300?), it will cater to all those who have paid a premium for a privilege to access more maps, something that is quickly becoming worthless at this point.
There is really no excuse for not having one at this stage.
Iv’e said this before and I’ll say it again. DLC playlists are a waste of time. I’ve read people commenting in numerous threads about this very topic, saying stuff like “most people want DLC playlists” or “343 are letting us down not having DLC playlists”. Yet when a DLC playlist is introduced, barely anybody actually plays it.
The truth is DLC playlists in any Halo game are historically known for being among the lowest populated. Halo 3, and especially Halo Reach and Halo 4, have had DLC playlists where the population has dropped to the 150-200 people range after only a week of the DLC being released. This is why 343 remove them. They simply divide the community and take up hopper space which could be used for another more popular playlist or to free up server space to improve matchmaking quality.
Simple solution is to party up with other DLC owners and search. Getting a full party with DLC owners increases the chance to be matched up with other parties of DLC owners. Me and my friends did this in Action Sack and got 6 straight games where 2 voting slots were DLC maps.
Yes, I would absolutely love a DLC-only playlist that could stick around or rotate maps.
To all of those people who say that “It’s a stupid idea because, like, only 100 guys would play it a day”, I say fine, go have fun with your stuff, we’ll play our maps we paid for, and I’ve got some catching up to do with my 99 new buddies.

I play the maps semi regularly without a DLC playlist, maybe 1 in every 6-8 games. So your your “we’ll play our maps we paid for” comment is invalid to me. But I still stick by my comment about the DLC playlist being a waste of time. Why bring it back only for it to be considered dead and removed after a week?
I still need my Mantis stomp achievement, but i haven’t seen Shatter in months. And it doesn’t help that my favorite maps in all of Halo 4 are DLC. Wreckage, Harvest, Daybreak, Outcast, And i never even had the chance to play Perdition before the playlist was removed. If they made a 5v5 playlist with ALL the DLC i would play the hell out of it.
I probably wouldn’t play a DLC playlist, not that often that is. But I still think there should be a DLC only playlist.
