When Halo 4 was first announced, the automatic response was to pre-order this game as soon as possible. I’ve been around in the gaming community for awhile, so I know to wait until a limited edition is announced. Once 343 Industries made that announcement, I was at GameStop the next day.
One of the items you got with your limited edition copy of Halo 4 was a redeemable season pass code for all the downloadable content. This was the main reason I had bought Halo 4’s limited edition; I wanted to guarantee that I had all those map packs on day one.
Every time 343 Industries released a map pack, they would have a multiplayer update featuring a new playlist for Halo 4’s latest map pack. They would keep the map pack specific playlist up for about 2-3 weeks and be done with it. Now as I sit in the War Games lobby and look at the playlists available, I realize that there is one essential playlist missing; the DLC-only playlist.
In my opinion, it would be very satisfying to be able to play in a DLC-only playlist. As these wonderfully created maps sit on my hard drive space begging to be played, I’m left sitting here looking at them in Forge and Custom Games wishing I could get a full lobby of people together to play on them. Doesn’t seem like these maps were a waste of time for 343 Industries to create and a waste of money for consumers if the only time we play on them now is in Custom Games and Forge?
I say we NEED a DLC-only playlist for the dedicated Halo fans that have stayed around through the time of Halo 4’s release and the small corner it occupies now on Xbox Live. What do you guys think? Would a DLC-only playlist be a good idea? Should 343 Industries make a DLC-only playlist for the sake of their wonderful DLC maps? Lets start a conversation.
