With all the DLC Maps being free anyone have any idea how 343 will be making back the Season Pass money? Surely REQ packs cant be enough.
First of all, it’s “Moneys”. There are no permutations of that word with an “I” in them.

A season pass is when you pre-buy all the DLC before release at a discounted rate like $50 instead of paying $15 per DLC over time that adds up to $60-75.

There is no season pass. All post launch transactions will be through REQ packs.

I am well aware of what a season pass consists of. My confusion stemmed from the implication that Halo 5 had one.
trust me, there are plenty of people with the patience of a drunken chiwawa out there, 343 will get their income.

Uh…through direct sales and maybe later espansions to SP and then spartan ops.
It’ll be interesting to see how well the REQ packs sell. If micro-transactions on mobile or the packs you can purchase in CS:GO/Destiny are a good basis to go off of I’d imagine they’ll sell pretty well.
I honestly think 343i is more concerned about keeping people playing their game longer, so if they take a hit on DLC money it’ll be worth it.
Honestly, i wouldnt mind some sort of DLC for a character who dies this game (the biggest names seem to be Buck and Arbiter, and there could be great story potential in either of them)
Maybe they could do an Halo 3: ODST esc expansion. As in build another game off the Halo 5 engine. When the ODST devs were interviewed they said making ODST was great because most of the work was already done so they could just focus on making a fun game.

What ever drugs your on, I want 10 pounds of it. 343i has proved with MCC that they do not care about there player base. Outsourcing work to small freelance groups and calling it a “separate team” does not steer anyone in the right direction.
We should be more worried about the initial product coming out good ie working mm, solid campaign, plethora of maps provided

Considering the kids of today most likely have access to their parents credit cards through their iPhone 6’s, 343i will without a doubt be making a lot of money just through REQ packs.
I love that part of the money earned goes to the HCS prize pool. Very neat they did that. It makes me want to buy a couple to support the tournament.

No they need to make it a full expansion
The buisness model of F2P games is the following as I see it:
A majority of gamers will never spend money.
A minority of gamers will spend money occasionally.
A tiny minority of gamers will spend tons on money.
Who are those gamers that spend hundreds, thousands of dollars on F2P games ? Some of them are just plain rich and don’t care about money. Some others are vulnerable people with self-esteem issues that want to distinguish themselves from the others. Not all of them have tons of cash. Some of them will ruin themselves trying to be “cool”.
The micro-transactions in Halo 5 will be more than enough to “cover” for the free DLC maps. I’d bet they will be even more profitable.
They plan on making money through the req system. However we do not the know the price of them.
