I like many of you have bought all the dlc for halo 4. I love the maps and loved playing them when there was an option to play them online. I feel cheated out of my money though. Now I get on halo and the only thing I play are the stock maps that are preloaded in the game. I can’t remember the last time I played a dlc map.
So I’ve come here to ask for 343i and the community to make an attempt to make a matchmaking playlist that requires the dlc maps and only those maps are available to play. This way, those who have the game can jump on and choose a dlc map they like. I would be nice if in each of the 3 boxes the options ranged from the 3 different map packs.
343 stole my money with halo 4 war games map pass… And i did not play more then 10 games of dlc’s maps… You are one in many… So don’t worry, 343 don’t care for dlc owners… They have your money, and you have nothing… No dlc playlists are going to be…
I’ve explained before why an all DLC playlist wouldn’t be possible. The maps for each map pack require different size teams: 4v4 on Majestic and Champions and at minimum of 6v6 (although it makes for a slow game) on Crimson and Castle.
This would mean that the team sizes for an all DLC playlist would have to be 6-8 players, something that can’t be done on 4v4 maps, especially Skyline, the smallest map in the game. Playing 8v8 on a map purposely made for 4v4 battles would make the game unplayable and unbalanced (think along the lines of having more than enough players to spawn trap the enemy team). Same goes for the big maps. Having teams sizes lower than 6 would end up with a slow game and the score limit not being reach before the end of the game.
Besides, DLC only playlist are notorious for having among the lowest populations of any playlist. It has been this case for years, even back in Halo 3 until Bungie made all but 4 playlists DLC required. At this point, its best to search with a full team of DLC owner to improve the chances of beig matched up with other full teams of DLC owners, this way the maps are more likely to show as votinng options. I do this a lot and play the DLC maps semi regularly, maybe 6-7 games a day.
I agree completely, or at least make DLC required for most matchmaking playlists. I have not played on a single Castle DLC map since 343 removed the Castle DLC playlist. I spent $60 on DLC and 343 is catering to the undedicated players who didn’t even bother to buy the DLC. What’s the point of buying the DLC if you can’t even play it in matchmaking?
Last night I got into a game of CTF and we were given the choice between Skyline and Harvest. Everyone chose Harvest and I can honestly say that I really miss the Crimson Map Pack as well as the other map packs. We definitely need a playlist for those maps.
I would love it if I could try out my hardly even used DLC from GoTY Edition! Really, despite having low population, I would at least prefer to play my DLC more often!
I’ve went home for lunch to play before and seen like literally 200 people on playlists. I don’t think the “notoriously low” amount of people on a DLC only playlist is a legit argument.
We paid for maps and they are not offering a reasonable way to play them. We were robbed, and the lack of any feedback on any of these posts is proof that they don’t really care.
