I play both Halo and CoD, and it’s just amazing how behind the curve top titles like Halo can be at times. Halo’s matchmaking algorithm for people who actually spent the extra money on DLC maps is god awful. I own every map pack, pretty much bought them all the day they launched, and never get to play them outside of a playlist that requires them. Once in a blue moon when all the stars are aligned, you MIGHT see a DLC map somewhere else, but usually not.
So why is this system so terrible? I actually feel like I wasted my money. CoD has never had this problem. You buy the maps, you are basically guaranteed to be matched with people who own the same maps you do. Both Halo 3 and Reach suffer from this problem. Halo 3 needed DLC required playlists to get matches on those maps, and Reach, just forget it. Your only hope is one single playlist with a small population littered with horrible gametypess like AR starts on huge maps with vanilla settings.
Is it really that hard to make a system like CoD has in Halo 4? I will not spend another dime on DLC unless I know for sure it’s not going to be like this again.
