DLC INTERGRATION

As a Map Pass holder, I find it incredibly frustrating how difficult it is to play the DLC maps in standard playlists. Now that the Majestic playlists are gone, I know I will only play those 3 maps once in a blue moon just as I do with the Crimson pack. 343 states that the maps will appear in all playlists when all players have them. The problem is that there seems to be no measure in place to try and match players with the DLC to others who do as well. It seems far fetched to assume that in a 8-16 person match it would be common for every single player to have the maps. I know other games have had this measure in place for matchmaking. Would that be so much to ask of 343 to make the effort to pair us with other players so that we can get some usage out of the DLC we paid for?

Yes! I don’t know why, after many demands and many Halo games, there still isn’t a DLC matchmaking filter. I don’t really know why there are now no matchmaking filters at all.

Crimson pack…? OOOOHHHHHH you mean those 3 maps I never see anymore…Whoa!

Bought Crimson Map Pack late. Still have yet to play them.

I don’t see why this is such a huge problem with dlc. On occasions I’ll get a dlc map, but it’s nothing special. Maybe it has something to do with skill, but I highly doubt it. But I believe there is a sale for all 3 map packs at the end of the week.

I completely agree, I am a fan of Big Team yet big team only got integrated with two maps from Crimson map pack, Shatter and Wreckage. Meanwhile Majestic had nothing to offer for big team apparently and now with Castle I have yet to even see a map in the voting list let alone play one with big numbers. Worst part is Big Team Slayer is the most populated playlist 95% of the time.

Big team is not particularly my bag, however I agree with you. I play primarily CTF and don’t like that the only way to play the maps is to use the DLC playlist and be subjected to whatever random game modes pop up. It kills consistency and doesn’t allow you to really feel out how the level works for your favorite gametype. If a matchmaking filter threw the DLC in the regular playlists there would be virtually no need for a new playlist.

I never really got to play Crimson maps, and I haven’t played either of the new ones. It seems that all playlist revolve around Haven and Complex. I despise Haven, and Complex is full of DMR campers every game.

I looked at some of the maps in forge. Most of the smaller ones look like they would be great for King of the Hill (I miss that game so much. It feels like I’m the only one ever voting for it most of the time) and the larger maps look like they would be okay for CTF and great for Assault (if it were an option).
The smaller indoor maps aslo look good for Oddball because there’s only one, maybe two places someone could try to throw it off so we might actually get to play the game for once without that happening.

I’d be willing to bet that 343i will eventually implement a system that preferably matches players who have certain DLC with each other, but if it happens it’ll probably be put in place after Castle has had its moment in the sun and they retire the DLC playlist.
Either that or they’ll just make a DLC-only playlist.
