Hey guys I was wondering if anyone who has the map packs can tell me how often you’ve actually been able to play it on multiplayer? I really like them, and am considering getting them, but I keep being told they never get picked

I don’t have them but from what I’ve heard, its not very often. 4 maps for 800msp isn’t worth it in my opinion.
I have played them combined less than 10 times in multiplayer, and I got them the week they were released. Unless you really want the achievements, or will enjoy playing them in a custom game, save your money.
make the historic battles map pack 400 msp, and then release another map pack with 6+ maps for 800 msp. thats 10+ maps for 1200 points. I’d by that.

I get them regularly. Not as often as the maps are packaged with the game but I do get to play them and I am happy I bought them. $10 for 4 maps is not that bad and they have put them on sale before. We would get to play them even more if it wasn’t for people like in this thread. Really $10 add on for a game you like isn’t much.
I bought the dlc the day it was released which was a few years ago, and I have only played on one of those maps once.
Most people didn’t buy it, and therefore can’t play on it. So if you paired up with one of those people it auto a original map, even then odds are not in you favor with someone who does have the pack.
If you are playing unarranged 2s or 3s, you probably won’t get one of the DLC maps. In party teams, they show up occasionally but it’s still pretty rare for everyone in the game to have the map pack. In 1v1, you’ll see them quite often, especially if you keep playing against the same person that also has the maps. I believe there’s a higher chance that you will get the new maps than the regular maps if everyone in the game has purchased them.
My friend and I get Memorial Basin in 2s a lot. I’ve only played about 15 games of 1s and I’ve already gotten Barrens two or three times. Glacial Ravine in 3s is the hardest map to get, but I’ve had it shown up a few times.
So really, it depends on what you play. If you play 1s or teams with friends who have the DLC, the maps should come up enough to justify your purchase. If you just hop on to play UA 3v3 like a good chunk of the Halo Wars population, then I wouldn’t recommend buying the pack.
Since everyone has to have the maps it is more likely that you get those maps in 1v1 than 3v3.
P.S. I downloaded the maps to both of my xboxes (using the same gamertag, so I only payed once). Apparently those maps are available also when my friend comes to play and uses his gamertag on one of my xboxes.
Checked my stats from www.halowars.com. It seems that I have had DLC map in 1v1:s 5 times in my last 15 games. So it is roughly 33 %.
There is 5 original 1v1 maps (Blood Gulch, Chasm, Tundra, Pirth Outskirts and Release) and 2 DLC 1v1 maps (Barrens and Blood River). So 33 % is actually a bit more than one would expect. Of course 15 games is quite small sample.
increase the sample size to reduce the effects of possible errors.

clanwars.cc displays the last 100 games.
