DLC: First Strike

I know 343 said they didn’t want to change a lot- but I think we need an adaption of First Strike. All I’m asking is a few DLC levels- if 343 wants to make a whole game that’s fine. But I think we should get this. Either 343 should make a DLC for Halo: CEA or make a Spartan Ops Season on it. I think it would be pretty cool. Or, they could have an extended beginning to Halo 2: Anniversary. Once again, my opinion and suggestion. If 343 doesn’t make it, someone like CMT probably will. In fact, they’ve even said they have plans for the H:1 story, such as First Strike. I don’t know exactly what they’ll do, they’ve said they can’t say too much about it. But, Come on 343! We want a Halo: First Strike game! PLEASE MAKE ONE!

it would be difficult to do while holding true to the book, but if they could do it than hell yeah!

wouldn’t it just be like…3 levels? I haven’t read it in a while, so forgive me.

There’s like, capturing yet another covnenat ship.

I’m not sure if there’s even that much fighting for blue team on reach.

And the battle on the unyielding hierophant.

It also needs SMG’s, the BR, and brutes, all of which appear in the novel but don’t exist in h1.

The problem with adapting novels is they spend a lot of time not on combat, and even in combat, have people doing things that are often hard to do in scripting (especially if it was done in annivery’s engine).

It’d be better as a Halo 2 add-on. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, due to weapons and enemies.

The other issue is health packs. If they had you regen hp like H2 and on, then it’d be a canon error. The problem is, it doesn’t make sense for most the places they go to in the novel to have heatlh packs. In Halo CE they had a lot of…conveniently dead medics around to supply them.

No. Let the past rest, and concentrate on the future.

I think this is an incredible idea, and it may actually happen. During some kind of confrence (whose name escapes me) someone asked if 343 was going to stay cannon to the storyline of the books(such as Ghosts of Onyx) instead of what bungie did with halo reach, and Frank said that they will, and also said something along the lines of incorporating those characters in future halos.

If they start exploring with the storylines of the books and start meshing them in with the franchise, why wouldn’t they eventually make some kind of First Strike game or DLC?

This would be interesting since the original Halo’s had the best design’s, etc… so I’d love to see something but only if they don’t tweak the weapon’s, etc…

Because turning novels into games doesn’t work if you want avoid a ‘reach’ incident. Novels and gameplay do not directly mesh well when the novel wasn’t meant to be turned into a video game.

As I mentioned before, healing alone would be an issue this game would have to tackle. Not to mention it’d have to have lengthly cutscenes to make sense without re-writing events.

Actually novel’s to game’s can only work if they put the effort in, with Reach it wasn’t as well done but neither was Halo 4 either, my point is unless 343i get the right team, right coordination then it shouldn’t matter if they got it from a book or a script designed for the game in mind. (Either way a story would be written down)
