dlc faction talk

the way i see it. some people want Prometheans. some want flood. and some dont want any of that.
so from the community forums it seems no matter what 343 do they will get hate from the community

so this is the way that i propose they could get this to work. if they added both into a campaign and restricted them to a certain matchmaking or game mode i dont see how people can have an issue. such as the flood being restricted to an infection game-mode and custom games. and the Prometheans being restricted to another type. i feel that if 343 did it this way all community members shouldn’t have to many major complaints.i personally would like to see another faction so i could play those game-modes or matchmake with people that have the same opinions.if people have different opinions they could stick to their own match-made gamemodes

Well as far its canon i dont see why should anyone complain for adding new races. Only ungrateful yoinks would complain.

Well I think its more a question of “I CAN HAVE BOTH!!!”, but the preference for most people is for Flood because them in a strategy game would be awesome; since you could swarm them with bodies. I haven’t seen anyone say that they don’t want the Flood and those who don’t want the Prometheans is really them saying “I don’t want it to have anything to do with the Created plot-line”. I disagree with that since that plot line concerns the wider galaxy and if Atriox is to be relevenat to that wider galaxy then it has to cross over at some point or we’ll be waiting until 2020 for HW3. Its why you erroneously get people saying the Didact will be a commander but not Cortana, despite us seeing a Guardian in Halo Wars 2.

Basically, if 343 said they were doing a Promethean faction, the only grumbling would be “why aren’t you doing the Flood!”. If they did both then nobody would complain or turn there noses up at it over no additional factions.

Putting Forge in means they aren’t too concerned about canon in multiplayer. I mean they might, for example, have armored Cortana as a Promethean leader and fleshy Cortana as a UNSC leader. Canonically that would make absolutely no sense, but then if they have dead characters playable then it means they are only loosely concerned about canon. So I don’t think they should restrict some factions to certain modes or have a “canon mode”.
