DLC Easter Egg Possibly Found

Good evening everybody. If this is the wrong part of the forums to post this, please relocate as necessary.

Several days ago while on Landfall, RECEPTOR 17 and I found what we believe is a Star Wars Easter Egg, relating to the Death Star.

Death Star Easter Egg

If this has been found already, then sorry, but if it hasn’t, if you look, the circular ball looks just like the Death Star for the way it is positioned and looks as if it will have a square target to fire at. The description of “Wear proper eye protection. Avoid direct contact with laser beam. May cause blindness or death”.

I would like people’s thoughts upon this, and if this is indeed an easter egg to such, then I would like to put in for my Easter Egg forum medal, and have RECEPTOR do the same. If not, well, it was worth looking into.

Seems more than reasonable to me, try private messaging Forum Team

Can’t get your link to work OP.

Really want to see this. I’ve seen the laser text in game but interested in your Death Star

Seen it now. Not an Easter Egg just a visual.

Easter Eggs have stuff happen, weapon drops, extra hard enemies to fight etc.

Good spot though. Great when you realise the things Devs have taken time to put into the game.

I don’t think Easter Eggs are limited to that.
What Lizking and Receptor spotted could easily be an EE if 343 intended to.

That’s pretty cool! And Easter Eggs can just be visuals, FHF.
Anyone else see the random green smilely face in Shutdown?

I just did this, so thank you for directing me toward the right people. Hopefully I’ll hear back from them again soon.

@ Lizking - So many things to see in Halo when we take time to look. Great find, hope your “Death Star” is an easter egg!

Thank you Z6NITRO, but also don’t forget, both RECEPTOR 17 and I found this, so partial credit goes to him as well. I just realized something interesting.

A couple of people on LIVE have informed me that Michael Salvatori (One of the composers to the previos Halo game soundtracks) was actually a Star Wars fanatic and that 343i did the trench run in Midnight as a tip of the hat to the Death Star trench run for him. How true this is, I dunno, but it seems more and more Star Wars related easter eggs seem to be popping up. The Little Green Man’s head is in the shape of Yoda’s head, it really makes you wonder.

Wait…was this on Shutdown? Even is it isn’t…WHERE? I didn’t know this little fella was out there.

It is a repeating pattern on ascent - erosion on the edge of the lake. I posted to the forums last year, but never got any word back so I thought it was something already known. There are several other images under and around the little “yoda like” green guy.

I don’t buy it, mainly because I don’t want to believe there is only one Star Wars fanatic at 343 and for the fact that I mentioned Rebel Assault in the months leading up to Halo 4 on these very forums (for those that don’t know, Midnight plays exactly and I mean exactly like Rebel Assault). The first time I played through Midnight I was literally like “OMG they actually listened!” It was amazing. So yeah, I like to think that they put that in just for me, even if it is very unlikely.

That’s a really cool find btw!
