Seriously, you can’t expect players to play when YOU want them to play, they play when they FEEL like playing
Now I get on and the DLC lists have all been updated/removed.
Where’s Majestic? Where’s Crimson?
It’s bloody impossible to match up in a regular game and get those maps, and I haven’t played on Crimson since Pre-Release, and I have never played on Majestic’s Because of my internet going on and being switched services.
Why isn’t there a “Requires DLC” matchmaking? Or the seperate “Crimson” “Majestic” and “Castle” DLC playlists? Let players play what they WANT to play.
It’s bad enough games like this add so much extra content a year after it’s release when it’s popularity is down - but to make map-specific (DLC required map specific at that) Achievements based on it? That’s just low.
Achievements should be added via DLC - but not “map specific” ones. Because like now, it’s impossible to get on a Majestic or Crimson map - because everyone is either on the Castle DLC (500 players…) or playing “normal” with players that have NO DLC at all - which means NO ADDITIONAL maps are there.
The limited time Playlist is stupid. Just because Castle came out recently it has it’s own DLC required playlist - but what about good ol’ Crimson or Majestic? They got removed. Now it’s 1 game outta 1,000 if your lucky you get a team of DLC owners trying to matchmake like normal and you can grab one of the special maps, IF THE VOTE ISN’T STACKED…
Shessh. Stupid system gets abused so much.
Notes for Halo5/xboxNext
Options to restrict match making result via Ping/connection. I am sick of playing with people lagging out badly and all say “Mexico” on their bio - Mexico does have the cheapest and most horrible ISPs - but I shouldn’t have to suffer through it!
“DLC” maps need to take priority over “Standard Maps” when players have DLC.
With a DLC playlist with the 3 of them would be fine IMO one playlist per DLC is too much, I’m pretty sure that after a few months Castle DCL will be replaced for a DLC playlist with all of them, so all I can tell you to do is wait.
OP, here’s the thing. 343 is “not” too fond of DLC ONLY Playlists. If you remember DLC Squad, when it was removed, everyone flipped, and all you can do now is look for them on any playlist. The best thing you can do, is make sure that you and the players you are playing have all DLC maps. If not, the maps will not appear.

Yeah, I know… that would work great if I had 10 friends all with DLC (oh wait… requiring "more players’ to have “more purchased content?” isn’t that a PYRAMID SCHEME?)
But I don’t have 10 friends that even play Halo 4, let alone have the DLC for it.
Hopefully they do -Yoink- right in Halo 5 making DLC add maps and what not, and achievements, but not requiring those achievements to “only unlock” on those specific maps. Wouldn’t be too hard to code a check of “Has DLC X?” “Y/N” if “N” then “No Achievement” even if you perform the task perfectly.
It’s just showing you how lazy game companies have become - not just 343 either, or Bungie, but Other games (nearly EVERY game) has cut corners and not “fully thought out” their product before release… I mean… Look at Ailens:CM… like the biggest example of “rushed half–Yoinked!- work” out right now. Nothing against it’s makers either, but seriously… take some time and do it right, take pride in your work.
Each? I understand the argument for having a DLC playlist featuring all the DLC. I understand the argument for som DLC requirements. But 3 seperate DLC playlists? As much as I want to play DLC maps more, that is not a good idea. all those playlists would have abysmal numbers and it would continue to spread the Halo population further.
This is what I suggest. DLC requirements for 2/3rds of the playlists OR a DLC playlist that features all the map packs together.
one DLC playlist each would avoid possible issues and lawsuits with the matter, and wouldn’t be hard to set up , look at Castle “Now” it has like 500 players…
Setting all 3 into one will still have the issue of getting the right maps.
I need to play on Majestic more then anything, and I bet anything when the “DLC lists are merged” I never get a majestic map. See the issue?
They need to just man up and do things right - eliminating the need for specific maps in achievements.
Seriously, just have the DLC code set up to “enable the unlocking of achievements” not “play on those maps to earn achievements” Simple solution to an otherwise more complicated problem.
But I doubt they will do anything about it “now” as it’s already done and they made their money and have no real plans for Halo4.
Games dying not because of DLC - but because of Age. Players move on to another game.
I would like a DLC playlist. Halo Reach had a “Squad DLC” playlist for a short time and I played it ALL THE TIME. Now I can’t ever find a DLC map in Reach and very rarely in Halo 4 do I see a DLC map (which is usually voted against for the same 2 maps I always have to play: Ragnorok and Exile). If there were a DLC playlist with all 9 maps, that would be perfect. I love Halo 4 but I do get tired of playing on the same few maps. I even switch up playlists and still get the same 2 or 3 maps in each playlist but never DLC.
> I purchased Crimson from the recent sale, and have not yet come across any of these maps in MM. What a waste of my money.

> it feels like I bought something from a shonky online seller who never sent me what I paid for.
I recommend you team up with one DLC owner and enter Double Team. You will be matched up with other DLC owners almost every single time. Just keep sending the DLC owners friend request till your friend list is dominated by DLC owners. You will than be better equips to enter matchmaking with a full team of DLC owners and you can play DLC all day every day in most any playlist.
