While in a vehicle, hold Sprint to dive sideways out of the vehicle.
Picture Evading sideways out of a vehicle.
Good addition, useless gimmick, or indifferent?

Depends on how it’s used I presume.
If you need to get out quick because someone just stuck your warthog with a Plasma grenade, then I guess so.
But only if it can only be used in every vehicle, some how.
I really liked ditching my warthog in Halo CE and having it careen into a friend.
I think it would be quite annoying. Imagine that you are gunning a hog and an enemy throws a grenade in front of it. Instead of avoiding the nade, your driver just dives out and you die. (just because it looks “cooler”) Also, it seems like a cheap way to avoid rocket/sticky deaths.
That would be pretty nice, I hate you can die sometimes because it takes too long to get out. Maybe it would lower your shield different amount depending on how fast the vehicle is going.
I can also think of other uses for this… Look at iBowser’s Sticky Detonator Behavior thread, you will understand. (iBowser, if you read this you had better thank this post, I’m giving you free advertisement!)
Not for it. I earn my kill if I stick you in any vehicle. I don’t want something else that makes you “avoid” death.
You either make the choice to get out earlier or die, unless you have a tank or something.

Agreed. There needs to be balanced time. Enough so that the driver can have a slight chance to avoid being blown up but also that time gap needs to be small enough that the person throwing the grenade or shooting the rocket doesn’t get cheated out of his/her kill. I’ve never really had too much of a problem with this in other halo games, though I’m usually the one sticking the vehicles.

Exactly. It was never a problem any game, and people were fine with it. Why have this now? Leave it how it is. I’ve gotten out before explosions many times before.

Or like I was saying, have the dive do a certain amount of damage to you, so you might just die anyways, and if not, you will be an easy kill.
A unique feature that Dive would add is vehicle to vehicle boarding. Dive out of a vehicle as another vehicle passes and hold X. Bam. Vehicle to vehicle boarding.
