I have tried several times now to get the “Dive Bomber” achievement but for some reason for every beat down I have done while jet-packing I have received no such reward. I did it 6 times in one game receiving a beat down medal as well as kill an opp. whil jet-packing. What am I doing wrong? Is anyone else having trouble getting this achievement? If you did get it what level and gametype were you playing? It didn’t work for me in Elite Slayer AE at all!
Are you sure that you’re not doing Assassinations instead? Assassinations are done by holding melee, while Beat Downs are done by just tapping melee, instead.
Few things to verify:
- Is it a true beat down? Pummel and Assassinations do not count.
- Are you actively jetpacking? Falling after jetpacking does not count, you need to be holding down the action button for the jetpack.
- Did you redeem the Anniversary code? The achievements do not unlock until you’ve either redeemed to code or purchased the Anniversary pack.
- Are you on an Anniversary map?
Make sure that you are actively jetpacking when you go for the hit. Smacking someone while falling won’t unlock the achievement. If you get the Firebird medal, then you should, in theory, get it.

That achievement worked for me, but I’m having problems with From Hell’s Heart…
for some reason,they made the achivements to be map-specific. try doing it on headlong and make sure your jetpacking.i just got this achivement today after beating 5 people down.
Thank you for all the replies! Headlong was the map I was doing it on. I would beatdown a player while jet packing scoring both a beatdown medal and kill someone while jet packing medal AT THE SAME TIME however still not scoring the achievement. I didn’t even bother trying a to get an assassination figuring that wouldn’t work because that is not what the achievement says in the description.
