Dive Bomber and other such achievements

Well, since 343 decided (in their infinite wisdom) to screw everyone who purchased the Anniversary DLC/ Anniversary game, by removing the Anniversary maps/ playlist from matchmaking (especially, the BTB maps), is there any way to get the dive bomber achievement anymore? I managed the one where you run 5 people over, by driving the stupid Mongoose on a sniper map and running some AFK dude over 3 times, and regular players over twice, barely within time. Anyway, if there are any surviving Anniversary maps, featuring AA, let me know. I’ve never managed to be in a room where one of these maps were voted for and I’ve tried every playlist type over and over.

Well since ALOT of playlist’s feature the map but everyone in the game has to have the maps for it to show up it becomes very hard. Therfore if you go on team doubles with either a friend that has the DLC or a guest then your chance of also getting 2 other people that have the DLC is MUCH higher

So, if I have my wife who, also has all the maps, join matchmake with me, it will only locate other people wit the dlc? Also, I think the Hell’s Heart achievement is glitched. Just did a Beaver Creek map, someone stuck a grenade on me, I ran at them, it blew both of us up…nothing. It even said I had killed him and I did nothing but run at him.

You can’t kill him. He has to kill himself so absolutely ZERO damage can be done to the person that sticks you. By you, or someone else.

No sadly not. It dosent seem to search for people with the DLC if you have it, it seems to just throw any random people it can in there so its really just getting VERY lucky and getting into a lobby with all people that have the DLC, then after that being lucky enough for the maps to even show up in the voting, and even more luckier to get people to vote for it if it shows up. Basically immposible.

Playing with people though that have the DLC increase your chance due to their being less searching for people that might or might not have the DLC

Nope it does. Just most people that spent money on dlc also spent money on Halo 4 and are playing halo 4. However, playing in a full party of DLC owners still works 100% of the time.

A party of three owners often matches with only dlc owners in slayer… however you are very likely going to run into a party of 4 enemies that know what their doing.

So If your goal is to “hunt for achievments” a playlist isnt going to help you at all. Because you could only do that in a full party of DLC owners anyway.

Hopefully 343i will see this and put the game types back in play. They have multiple achievments related to them is quite rediculous. Its annoying and frankly rediculous having impossible/near impossible achievments in a game.

I love how no one pays attention.

I as you, if the playlist were still in action…what do you think you are going to do? other than get dominated by a team of 4? The only way to compete against a team of for is also be in a team of 4.

Also, if you are in a ToF… you still not going to get your achievments. The only real way to get this acheivments was to “Achievement hunt” in a full party. This still works with the current system.

The only thing lost by not having a playlist is the ability to SEARCH ALONE… yes, that sucks. I know. I would like to search alone as well. HOWEVER, that will not get you your acheivments mainly because you would rarely be able to vote for the correct map and gametype needed (which is why you need a full party) and even if you are amazingly lucky and get the correct map and gametype… do you think enemies will just let you get these achievments? Nope… you still need a full party to get these achievments.

Playlist do not make it any easier to get your achievments. Only friends with all DLC.

Please direct yourself to the “recruiting” section of the Forums and find the “Freelancer” thread and add yourself to the list. There you could find other players that have all DLC and other players could also find you. You can then easily fill a lobby, vote for the correct map and gametypes you need… bam, achievments are all yours.

Use this thread to find people who own all DLC (for achievments or otherwise)

You can browse the list to see who are searching for players like yourself and you can also put yourself on the list so future players can find you too.

Here’s the sad thing…Halo Anniversary already lacks the basic functionality of the original Halo CE. You should be able to system link Blood Gulch, Sidewinder and all the original maps, as you were able to in the past. So, the fact that they removed all “strictly Anniversary” playlists with exception to Classic and Firefight, is ridiculous. What if you own the Anniversary disc, like me? You should be able to pop in your Anniversary disc and locate Anniversary matches…but you can’t, you have to actually own Reach, in order to have a slim chance at landing anything other than those two Anniversary playlists. Ridiculous. The least they can do, is add those playlists back, for the sake of the actual disc owners, if not for us Reach players.

Unfortunatly a system link is harder than it sounds. The multiplayer is run on Reach engine. Not CE. So just transfering the maps is not going to cut it. The litterally had to build those maps from the ground up. But I feel ya.

I got so tired with anniversary maps I made a version of Halo 3’s Narrows on the Anniv map Ridgeline http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dC1In9v_6qYhad to use a telleporter glitch to get outside the map and forge out over the water but it was totally worth it.

But anyway, CEA was only a “campaign system link”

Multiplayer is all reach. So you are better off buying Reach and using the code that came with the CEA disk to install the CEA map pack on Reach. If you like, I forge other maps for CEA custom games. but that doesnt really help but… best I could come up with bud.

I haven’t read all the replies but two things:

  1. For Hells’ Heart the enemy player needs to be at full health and full shield before blowing himself up, so he basically needs to be touching you.

  2. I still need 4 achievements, trying to get a group of 12 people together for this Sunday. See this thread.
