I’m assuming the only people who are playing H5 right now are those who are gunning for 152 (like me) and/or those who still enjoy the multiplayer. So when Infinite comes out, I am also assuming that most of those remaining people will leave the H5 forums on waypoint. For me, I’ll finally move on because I will stop playing once I hit 152. Honestly it is bittersweet because I really get the feeling of community on here as compared to Infinite’s forums right now. Every other topic on Infinite’s is just a big argument over and over since the demo. Hopefully that changes soon and does not carry til launch.
Game wise, I’ll play Infinite and have been itching to go back to MCC since they added that new season. I also want to get to my backlog of other non-Halo titles like Hellblade, Ori and Will of the Wisps, Sekiro… It will be weird, considering I’ve played almost exclusively H5 since this pandemic began, and plan to play until I get 152 in a few months.

I sincerely hope there is no reason to go back to H5 once Infinite releases. I want Infinite to do well and allow players to ditch the REQ system once and for all.

This was a pretty funny first post.
To put it less bluntly I too am most likely gonna uninstall H5 sometime soon. After I reach 152 I think I’ve accomplished all I’ve wanted out of this game. Always gonna go back to the MCC as it’s continued to be supported, but H5 has gone neglected for quite some time.

I’m continuing with H5 until I hit 152 there’s no way I’m just going to sack it in. It’s going to take a few months but hopefully by the time I get there any issues with the new Xbox and Infinite will be sorted! Just hope there’s a big enough player base on H5 when infinite does come out to still get games as easy as I do now!

I think from now until Infinites launch will be one of the last few chances to easily get games and hit max rank. Maybe a month or so after for those stragglers, but after that, I think this game will be dead AF. My next guess is waaay down the line they might add it to MCC.

I feel you man, well my 152 dream may never happen I think you’re right though, infinite looks such a massive game that most people will just pack it in and forget about H5. I hope we’re wrong but it’s like any major game really! I’m just going to plod along and whilst I can still get games I’m refusing to move over! I’ve always been into halo for the campaign only and have always played cod for multiplayer,so this was the first halo game I’ve spent hours playing the MP, I just wish I’d jumped on it a few months earlier!
Halo 5 and I have a hate/love relationship. I absolutely love the gameplay of halo 5. Moving around in a game never felt so fun. I know that in and of itself pisses some people off…but the mobility in halo 5 for me is the games highlight, stacked with the traditional shot for shot fights, throwing god nades etc.
But I also hate it. I ask myself why am I playing when it’s a struggle far to often. Lol
So when halo infinite is out…I’ll be happy it’s a fresh experience to all of us. I’ll most likely grind it when I have time. If these old thumbs allow it.
And yea…the threads popping up in that other sections are overkill…idk how people can talk about the same topics over and over.

I’ve never played H5 but fully plan to get it and play it after infinite.

Totally feel you there man. Grinding warzone everyday takes its toll because its so repetitive. Still loving Arena, however.

And yeah, the non-stop complaining about a game – a game thats not even out yet – for some reason really annoys me lol. There is much constructive discussion (don’t get me wrong), but at the same time there are posts like “Omg if THIS particular gun from past halos ISN’T in Infinite I will NOT be HaPpY” and blah blah blah. Like… if I were 343 right now I would not be excited to make a game knowing that whatever small thing you do a bunch of man-children are going to rage over it.

It can’t be helped man. I just hope the population is huge…on the bright side…if I hate it…it would have cost me nothing to try it. Playing this current halo just makes me feel like I’m too old to keep up nowadays. Idc about the guns in infinite…the art style…I just want to enjoy a game for fun…and each time I play halo 5 these days I feel like I just spent an hour being frustrated the entire time…asking myself why did I even turn my xbox on.
So yea man I cant wait till it’s out…as much as I love the gameplay of h5…I think I need to uninstall it and get rid of the temptation to play something that seems to only piss me off.

Ever since I hit 152 a few months ago I’ve certainly played a lot less Halo 5. The new season on MCC doesn’t interest me all that much but I might do it for something to do.
I’ve been going through all the old games, picking up all the achievements I never got. It’s been fun playing games like Spartan Assault again.
Once infinite comes out I can’t see myself going back to Halo 5. I’ve done everything there is to do. Achilles, all REQS, 152 & I even did the game on LASO. New Halo will be so refreshing.

I’ll keep all my halo games installed at all times ! I’ll always go back in play them even when Halo infinite comes out.
I have barely played H5 since I hit 152 last year. I really enjoyed the gameplay, but I put more time into H5 multiplayer than any other Halo game to date. I may play a few matches here and there, but I don’t typically go back to older games when a new one launches unless I need to clean up achievements.
Once I finish my last few MCC achievements, I plan to move on from that game as well. It’s fun, but ultimately it’s a collection of games that I already had my fill of during their prime

I hear you. I am typically the same way, but for some reason this past year I’ve been really invested in 5 and MCC’s multiplayer progression. Even though I 100% H5 and am like 86% thru MCC, I went back to multiplayer and set cheevos aside for now

The achievements, as far as I can remember, were pretty fun to do. The only one that sucks is the audio logs since theres like 117 of them lol. That was the most tedious one.

Same here. MCC is always the fall back for me. I can easily play those at any time.
