Ditch banning over ragequits + make matchmaking competitive

Had an absolutely dreadful night of gaming. My friends and I repeatedly got matched against the praetorian guard of sweatlords and got stomped every time to the point we couldn’t even get a single win.

After a while it got so frustrating we started backing out so we could actually make progress on our challenges - only to be told we’re banned.

I have yet to come across another FPS game that does this. Get rid of that feature. It will create an exit point for players as other games have set a level of expectation.

I don’t know what happened between tonight and a few nights ago when I was having a blast with my buddies, but it’s clear it’s a step in the wrong direction.

If you had a rough night, that’s not something you can blame the game for, if you want them to adjust matchmaking or refine it, just say that.

Also, SBMM is on in the QP playlist, like, the game is matching you against people they think you’re fit for, it is competitive, sometimes a little TOO much because not everyone wants to sweat 24/7.

Like seriously, nothing has changed but the XP system in the past few days, you can’t blame the game for whatever was going on with you and your pals, maybe you guys were just out of it?

There is Sbmm for sure even in quickplay, but no skill based system is always accurate, yesterday in the tournament Snipedrone was getting a very positive KD and he was playing against good players, stomping can happen even in tournaments, you need to keep practicing and you’ll improve

Also banning people for quitting is essential, otherwise everyone would keep quitting until they find easy matches

Usually a team matches harder players to account for the fact you’re teaming. The system takes a little time to work out if this is a good thing or a bad thing. If your team is still stomping everyone, it will turn up the heat on your opponents. If you were getting stomped the system would realise, oh no these guys aren’t using teamwork like we expected, and give you easier opponents.

Tldr: if it happens again, just play a few more games to even out the sbmm.

I’ve been saying it for weeks, basing social games on global competitive statistics that only lead to having a very strict SBMM system causes them to stop being fun. The social games have lost their essence.

This is why challenges need to go the way of the dodo.

Your team were trying to do challenges instead of playing the game properly and got matched vs people playing to win. Not necessarily sweat lords… probably either people that don’t care about the challenges or that had already finished them.
