Distraction medal rewarding the AFK

I was watching the newest gameplay from e3 and I had seen the distraction medal from a better view. with the new join progress system it seems that this medal could almost reward the people who are boosting in the game.

With new medals such as distraction giving you points for distracting the other teams players while your team kills them seems that it is a little unnecessary. You cant fire your weapon at the enemy player or it will either go for a kill or an assist.

So with people being afk and all saying that they are being shot by the other player and a player from their team gets the kill they are basically getting rewarded for doing absolutely nothing. not to mention that they are getting the performance bonus and game complete at the end.

new medals like this are a problem because we complain about people being AFK so much that now they get more rewards for ruining gameplay.

Does anyone feel the same way?

Hopefully the distraction medal won’t be worth very many points.

Bad news it gives as much as an assist

Hopefully we’ll have AFK boot in all playlists

Really? It would make more sense if it was worth half as much as an assist, seeing as you are only “helping” in an indirect manner. Also, I wonder if you can get the distraction medal with a hologram? Would be nice to be rewarded a little if your hologram gave your team mate that extra second they needed to pick up the kill.

With all of the bonuses being handed out for actually playing the game, AFK’ing won’t get you much at all to make it worth it.

Right now all it looks like is you’re guaranteed 1,000 points for completing the game. Then you have huge bonuses for getting the Objective (5,000 I think I’ve seen), medals giving you points, a victory netting you 5,000 or something.

AFK’ing will always be an issue, but this time around they’re only getting 5-10% of the total points. The Game Complete bonus in Halo: Reach never should have been the main driving force behind getting credits (I think it was the worst design choice for the most recent Halo due to the fundamental problems it started).

All in all, I wouldn’t worry about it.

Well, hopefully, there will be an AFK boot system.
