Display Arena Rank in your nameplate at all time please

343 please put your highest Arena Rank in your nameplate at all times so Rank in Halo can mean something again

Im really hoping for the TU we can playlist xp again but also showing your current highest Arena ranking again would be great,

We need to make MLG/Slayer/Dubs/Swat/Snipes all ranked and say you have an Onyx in doubles and you go seach in Rumble Pit let it show that there is an Onyx in the group.

At the moment you need to seach though too much stuff and Ranking means nothing.

Thanks

I really dislike Arena ranks

Just my opinion

Thats fine then you don’t need to get ranked or if you do you will be ranked with other players who also don’t take it serious.

Either way for us players who want to get ranked we would like to have our rank visable

I agree with this, since getting a high skill rating is 10% for self accomplishment and 90% ego boosting.

I agree. The main reason I don’t play Arena is lack of incentive. Why should I care about a rank that I, or anyone else has to dig for to see it? I’m sure that I’m not the only one who feels this way, and I’m pretty sure that if ranks were visible on the nameplate at all time then the Arena population would more than double overnight.

Agreed

QFT.

This, more playlists, and better designed maps (specific Arena variants of each map, preferably with AA’s as pickups) would make Arena my most played playlist.

I Agree!!

Im glad everyone agrees, I wish they would tell us exactly what they have planed soon in one of the weekly updates

I agree. I don’t even see a reason not too, considering that little space in our name plate is there anyway, in other playlists.

This. I really hope they consider giving us visible ranks.

It could only show the rank from the previous season because once you get ranked it’s a new season.

Just a suggestion how about it shows your average arena rank?

Either way I’m for it.

This is NEVER going to happen in Reach. The trolling was so bad in H3. Addittionally, many people simply do not care about skill levels and whatever and to force it down their throats is not a good thing.

I don’t play Arena, so why would I want to have something on my Nameplate for it? Besides, I see a high Arena rank and I think “tryhard”.

I very much agree with this topic. 343i please consider the overlaying rewards to pursuing a rank. One reason is to show it off!

Bad idea.
The ranking system is terrible. I have a 1.8 kd in arena and im bronze. What does this tell you? Nothing about my skill, but that I lost because I didnt join in with a party.

If you are as good as you claim to be (no offense intended) then odds are that you will carry your teams to wins more than not. I knoe this from experience. Then again, a good K/D against weaker players does not prove skill, nor does it without a good KPG average.

I support the idea of showing Divisions on nameplates at all times though. It would motivate people to play it and increase the population a lot.

You have only played 34 games this season, it takes longer than that to find where you are, especially when searching alone. If it just instantaneously guessed your skill level from that few games, even terrible players could end up with Onyx eventually just from getting lucky one or two days in a row.

Besides which, using your own placement as an argument against it is awful to begin with. There’s an inherent bias that can’t be overlooked. You are now Silver and judging from your stats, that’s about where you should be. Get to 100 games and you will end up approximately where you deserve to be, I guarantee it.

You should post more, these forums need more players with your level of experienc & understanding of the game at a competitive level.

I’ve been saying for months that this is the main reason for lack of population in the Arena playlists.

While I personally don’t care if I get to show off my “number”, since I play purely for the personal satisfaction of a challenge, there seems to be a large contingent of “competitive casuals” that require some sort of tangible reward for them to participate. I would dislike the influx of jerks such a change would bring, but additional population to speed up search times and give me a better idea of where I stand with respect to a broader spectrum of the Halo population would be nice.

However, I’m pretty sure this isn’t something as easy as flipping a switch. It would almost certainly require a Title Update, and while 343 has released one of those, it’s a very “soft” Title Update. They did not make any changes to the GUI (graphical user interface), only to back-end gametype support. There’s a major difference between GUI alterations and what they did, and I’m not sure they are willing to invest the man-hours to attempt this.
