In matchmaking, with a team of randoms who generally scatter across the map and have no idea what coordination is, if even half of the enemy team is coordinated, then having your flag stolen and then stealth capped is fairly easy for the enemy team to accomplish. The teleporter right below the flag breaks this map and mode combination; it’s Avalanche/Sidewinder all over again. I’m wondering if the playtesters for this map bothered to try out a few games of CTF on this map without mic coordination.

What’s worse is that nobody else but me seemed to want to chase after the enemy flag carrier, nobody really bothered to try to find and stop him, at least from my perspective.

That’s BTB for you. BTB CTF is just completely ignored. The game is becoming like BO3 where you play objective games just for kills.

Or BF4, I’ve heard. I mostly stick to TDM in BF4, though. I’m not a big fan of Slayer in BTB anymore, seems a little mindless. I prefer CTF or Strongholds, but the last few games I played, my teammates apparently didn’t want to win. It’s like they weren’t even trying to play the objective.
I disagree with it being broken just because randoms/uncoordinated teams can’t play well on it. How is that the maps fault? The maps are new. It will take time for people to learn them. But as no one uses mics objective games are tough as a solo player. That is why I think they really need to have two btb playlist. One objective and one slayer. Especially since objective seems to be weighted very heavy and comes up way more than slayer. At least in slayer you have a better chance at victory with randoms and when you get short handed when players quit out.
If you really are this concerned with how the map plays, feel free to send me some constructive feedback. Telling me that this map is “broke” unfortunately doesn’t help me one bit.The fact that your team does not want to chase down the flag holder is frankly also not my fault, map design has nothing to do with the games communication. I look forward your feedback.

I like the map. Teleporters have been way under used in Halo now. Although I do hope to play it as a slayer game soon. Every game I get now seems to be ctf or strong holds.

I’m sorry, but its common knowledge that if you go through a teleporter while being shot from behind, its standard code to wait behind it and kill your tracker, and as for you following him in blindly, you got to turn around when your that close to an enemy when following them or that will happen more often than not.

I too hope to see Dispelled with Slayer in the future. When everyone focuses on kills, the map can get pretty chaotic at times. Just the way I like it!

Don’t listen to this guy. I love the map.
I don’t blame the map maker when this happens.

That… That clip inspired such a vile feeling deep in my heart. I can’t tell you how many times things like this have happened to me too. It gets even worse when they DO get in to drive it, but some omnipotent force takes over the random’s puny mind and tells them “WARTHOG GO VROOM VROOM” and they just take off alone without you, leaving you, the poor defenseless flag carrier, to suffer at the hands of 8 enemy Spartans. BTW TimeDipper, the map is great, poor team coordination can make any experience frustrating.

This is what’s wrong with the Halo community. “My opinion is better than yours, so shut up.”
What do you mean by teleporters? Do you mean the lift? What’s the issue with them exactly? It allows for one to have access below and above the base which doesn’t have to be bad, and if you have a good defender he should be able to manage one or two guys depending. It also adds something different from other maps which I find good, especially for btb play which I find more casual anyways.
As for testing it “for those who don’t use mics to coordinate”. There really can’t be anything to fix it. The same issue applies to all maps. All hell can break loose if no one coordinates, all you can do is try your best and hope the randoms can hold up on their own, there shouldn’t need to be a play test for mic play and non mic play as it simply comes down to player awareness. I mainly play btb solo and don’t have a reason to blame a map for not play testing non mic players. I win a fair amount without people using mics, even I don’t use one.
