Disney bought out Star Wars!!!!!

This means a lot for the future of gaming. I actually found this out through Josh Holmes via twitter. Lmao. I want to tie this back into gaming too since it relates soo much to gaming, and entertainment in general. Hell, without star wars we wouldn’t have epic moves like Avatar/Titanic/Aliens/Terminator. James Cameron stopped his job as a truck driver because of episode IV. 343 Guilty spark was modeled after C3PO’s likeness.

Oh and guys, there will be a Star Wars Episode VII

Sorry mods if this isn’t directly related to gaming but I wanna tie it back in to it! So lets have a discussion about Star Wars video games and how awesome they are, and gonna be!

I got your back and 6 degrees.
So Marvel says “Hey Disney, meet 343i and Halo. You’ve heard of them, now get to know them.”
And then Disney says “Hey LucasFilm, we have your next project.”
And then 343i says “Ya but we want merchandising control over all else, you understand don’t you Disney and LucasFilm?”

Here is the original soucre

Warning! There is a rage below!

Why can’t they leave well enough alone? The prequels were stupid and unneeded. Why they have to do this is stupid! The first three were enough! I don’t care if you make video games to expand the story but the more movies are pointless.I want to know how this will affect 1313, I’m planning on getting that game because I love the Bounty Hunter games. And if this totally kills the chance of Battlefront 3, then there will be hell to pay.

Surely this should be in in Yo-Yo!, right?

It’s big news to deserve its own thread I’d say.

Oh my… The horror! Will this mean the fall of Star Wars?

Anyone else still waiting for a KotOR III?

LucasFilm can do more than StarWars. Industrial Light and Pixar are both former LucasFilm divisions and LucasFilm has more such divisions, plus gaming divisions.
This is bigger than Star Wars, though cool it will be to see if they do Anakin, Jacen and Jaina Solo with Ben Skywalker, but the deal that could be made for Halo and its motion picture debut being extremely close to the source… WOW.

> Surely this should be in in Yo-Yo!, right?

Well like i said, lets try to tie it back into games too!

More Star Wars means more Star wars video games…

I approve of this message.

I do have one thing I like about the Star wars trilogy: its actually one of the most fun PC games that actually takes good developer programming, solid graphical input, and creates a storyline far more deep then anything other sci-fi game I know, including Halo.

The fact Disney bought them though is something that does put me on edge… Here’s to hoping it works out in their favor.

Tie it into games? Alright. LucasArts is a subsidiary of LucasFilms, meaning that Disney now owns it, and they make games. And Skywalker Sound did the music for CEA.

Eeesh. Because that’s what people want is more mediocre writing and acting.

Oh ya forgot… Um this just keeps getting better for all

What?! I…I am at a lost for words. Hopefully this turns out amazing.

As a Star Wars fan, I actually like this news. Three new movies may seem blasphemous, but really I’d love a breath of fresh air. The prequels, with the exception of III IMO, were pretty bad and since then the Clone Wars era has become a mess. Disney has the potential to take Star Wars past ROTJ and give us some good stuff. They may follow the Thrawn Trilogy, they may not.

Frankly a lot of EU stuff has sucked anyway under Lucas. The Dawn of the Jedi comic set at the earliest point of the timeline is a convoluted mess, the Revan novel under the Old Republic era sucked and Red Harvest, a prequel to the Death Troopers zombie book, was bad.

Go Disney.

> Anyone else still waiting for a KotOR III?

The old republic MMO is pretty much KOTOR 3, not even kidding.
On a side note I think this was a terrible move. After the prequels they should just leave the movies well enough alone.

And it wasn’t that good IMO.

I’m actually reallyreally excited by this. Two of my favorites in one?! YAY!

I know but still, you can’t deny the similarities.

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.

Waiting for Force Unleashed 3, Battlefront 3, and Republic Commando 2. Lucusarts is worse than Valve when it comes to completing their trilogies.

-Yoink- no.
