Purchased Halo 4 yesterday from Tescos, took it home, installed the disk 2, put in disk 1. Started playing the multiplayer and after most matches, as soon as soon as the match ended it would come up with a disk unreadable error, send me back to Xbox dashboard and then come up with a server error message (or it could ave been network error message, can’t remember what it says).
Is it actually the disk or perhaps my Xbox that’s the problem or is it just be teething problems for the game? I’ve was playing Black Ops for a couple weeks before hand with no problems, but this has just started happening with Halo 4.
Thank you for your time
Sam
i would suggest taking your game to a friends house and trying it on their xbox to see if it still says disk read error. if it doesnt then its your xbox, but if it does then its the game.
Thanks for your reply
The annoying thing is. It could be the installation that messed up in the first place but i have no way of telling really. I’ll try it again today and see whether any problems arrise
Similar thing happened to me just now. I finished campaign, then went to install disc 2, and when I went to load disc one, it states “unrecognisable disk”
I’m deleting the installed files from disc 2 and re-installing them to see if that works. If not, then I don’t know what else I can do other than exchange it; absolutely pathetic.
I Googled it and it seems a couple of people are having the similar problems. Yeah i’m going to play again. If it screws up again i’ll delete the instal and do it again aswell
Didn’t work, trying to find a solution on Xbox support.
Just fixed it.
Insert another game disc and let it load and then re-insert the Halo 4 disc.
My xbox wouldnt let me play large multiplayer maps, or let me past 5 mins of campaign. I baught a new xbox. works now.,
Ah good job Zealot Tony. I’ll try it later. I’m a uni student Stollenberg, so i don’t really have the spare cash to buy a new Xbox :p. I will if worse comes to worse tho
Played another game and went back to Halo and it’s still coming up with the disk error after each match
