Disentigration....

I’m talking about how the forerunner weapons and enemies flake into glowing little bits of pixelated eye candy. A really cool effect that, from a design aspect, cuts down on the requirements of your system by eliminating the remnants of your kill. I love how they did this effect and hope to see a lot more of it. I’m sure this will lead to some breathtaking community screen shots…

On a side note, I got claims on being the first one to call it “being ashed.” Just saying. Ashed. Remember it!

I thought it was awesome. Makes them feel powerful.

It made for a pretty epic Elite death too.

I think that may have something to do with the enemies he killed being AI defenders not physical beings. I doubt the light-gun for example will actually disintegrate people in MM although if it did I wouldn’t be complaining =)

My guess is that it would. Imagine how awesome that would be.

I echo that. But the MM scenes actually showed a disintegration death too, though I’m thinking this was more for a “danger room” holographic projection dying, like the defender A.I.'s you’ve mentioned above. Who knows though, that scatter gun is definitely going to be the new power weapon to grab…

You mean like this?

I really like this effect…

I actually love it too, and any promethean weapons will disintegrate in Multiplayer

10 bucks says that gets nerfed.

That Scattergun is going to be great in multiplayer, by killing someone with that you cannot -Yoink!- an enemy

inb4 achievement for killing x amount of enemies with it. “Ashes to Ashes” :stuck_out_tongue:

Thats really cool… I have never seen that happen before in multiplayer.

I was just about to say it’ll be never used since you can’t -Yoink!-.

In the multiplayer/spartan Ops preview, the scattergun was turning the Spartans into orange flakes as well.

To the OP: I call shotgun on “Dusted that -Yoink!-!”.

Awesome video and I guess we will have some epic kills in multiplayer :].

OMG it’s true!!!
Teabagging is gone, corpse humping is gone! The corpses are clearly shown disintegrating/disappearing a short time after the player is killed. I got to say, it looks just as good in MP and it proves that it’s not just the “laser rifle” that burns away the bodies.
Then again, it does make sense since they players on the field are just holographic projections (even in game) and not “real” persons.

I’ll definitely use the rifle variant if it’s available as a loadout. If not, I’ll always be swapping my DMR out for one. I will simply -Yoink!- your cremated remains.

I can hear Jeff now . . . “CRE-MATION!”

I think the disintegration might be an armour effect similar to the grunt party and heartbreak from Reach.

Those forerunner weapons are designed to combat the flood.
