Discussion wether or not Omega Team are washouts

It has come to me that in lore we don’t see omega team in lore until Halo wars two, where they are Fast reaction respond team. With red team they were the first Spartans to test Shielding witch has made me think that if they weren’t washouts they wouldn’t of been at a Oni base and rather be on the Front lines.

This sorta brings questions like were omega team and red team friends? I have no clue.

Omega Team is seen in Halo Wars 1 though. The individuals were unnamed back then, but Bungie was also very protective of their universe’s lore so they would have accepted that Spartan team only if it fit the universe.

As for the two teams being friends, they are most definitely brothers and sisters in arms since both groups consist of Spartan-IIs. Additionally, if they were washouts, they would not have been granted Mjolnir armor.

You do realize that Red Team themselves were washouts right? They were definitely wearing Mjolnir by the events of Halo Wars.
Black Team was also fully comprised of washouts and they even got their own specialized Mjolnir, so your statement is incorrect.

I think you may have misread the statement you highlighted. Washouts would not have armor, as the second poster states. These two teams obviously do have them.

Nope, was not aware. Seems like they’re an exception though and not every washout gets a set. Always cool to learn something new regardless.

Well you do need to get fully rehabilitated to wear Mjolnir. Can’t see poor Kirk or Réne getting into a suit anytime soon.

Yeah, maybe I skimmed a bit too quickly.
