Hey i was just wondering myself the other day what will halo 4 be like, and why with the current changes made it will be the worst halo yet. Hear me out. I also wan’t to see your opinions also.
So Halo is for many people the MOST competetive game on consoles ever. The game is known for it’s fast paced skilled action where winning requires gunskill, teamwork, power weapon controll and map controll. Halo is also know from being one of the most fun games ever made. Halo 3 hit this balance top on for having Ranked playlists for competetive and Social for the fun games
So theres a video on youtube about Halo 4 MP information. It said Halo 4 is going to have Instant Respawns, Custom loadout, Halo points to buy new guns attachments and Armor abilities, Random Power weapon spawns and the possibility of people join in progress into games. The people from 343 have said they are not copying Call Of Duty (a video game series that is hated throughout the whole halo community) even though the similarities are obvious. These changes make the game much more random making actual skill lesser. Making a noob friendly game out of halo is the weirdest idea of the millenium. In the youtube video 99% of the comments disagree and don’t want these changes. Because in the end making a noobfriendly game that offers nothing to the players who played a lot to get good isn’t going to be played a lot after the “honeymoon phase” Now it just seems like Robert Bowling is making the game for you
What bad things do I see about the information. 1. Instant respawns can make a guy spawn so fast the guy who killed him has not recharged his shields yet resulting a cheap kill for the lesser player. And this change without tweaks would make objective games unplayable. 2. Custom loadouts. Halo is been about the “you start with same guns and get the weapons you want” loadout break the balance of the game if you can spawn with different weapons. 3. Armor abilities. This was already a mistake made by bungie with reach. Other halos if you die you were not good enough get BETTER. AA’s give a bad player a cheap way to go around things. Armor lock you should be dead but his teammates come and finnish you off before the armor lock guy even dies. Get the sniper in Pinnacle and camo yourself up… you cannot be killed. Jet pack is the worst of them all. The fundamentals of halo that i wrote before… Jet pack kills one of them → Map Controll. Maps like reflection and pinnacle are unplayable because of jet packs. Great maps in H2 but terrible because 1 jet packer can kill your top controll with spamming nades from above. Buying guns in Halo? you’re kidding me right? there goes another fundamental. This is an insult how they said it’s not like COD. Random power weapon spawns ruins map control even more. Imagine a game on the Pit H3. It’s 46-46 The red teams gets rockets to their shotgun and win the game. Does that lost belong to the blues NO. Destroyes the competetive nature of the game and people joining games… ugh.
Halo is ultimately having fun but games that take away from the skill factor and add the random factor are not FUN Ever heard the term BS in games like Reach and COD. Cod 4 had minimal BS halo 3 had minimal BS so it was a fun GAME. New cod’s and reach have more random things that don’t require skill making the game more frustrating and not fun to play. Right now i just hope halo would have faded away with reach
